Usually I write an editorial/review about the films, but I thought it would be nice if we could get a discussion going in the comment section about the movie. With so much anticipation building up to today, let us know if Breaking Dawn Part 1 lived up to the hype. Was the wedding epic enough? Were there enough feathers and damage to the headboard? Was something added that you loved or left out that made you disappointed? I plan on seeing it today and have heard some amazing reviews by fans, some mixed, and some negative, so sound off in the comment section. I will do the same! Feel free to talk about the soundtrack as well! Happy Breaking Dawn Day! Related posts: |

We loved it – while, as necessary, there were pieces omitted, Bill did a really decent job of capturing most of the critical scenes for the fans, The decision to weave both scenes and music from the earlier movies was a great choice to tie the whole saga together. Both the wedding and the transformation scenes were incredibly powerful. |

I loved it! Condon did an amazing job. I will say though that I think this film should be Rated R and not PG13. The birth scene and sex scenes were definitely not something for a 13 year old to see. Everyone in the theater that I went to was cringing and looking away at times. It definitely stayed true to the book and I loved that, but I will admit I was shocked by how graphic it actually was. The wedding and honeymoon scenes were epic. This is the first time besides Twilight that I can actually say there were enough Bella and Edward scenes. They were truly happy and it was so nice to see Edward laugh and smile so much. The imprinting was tastefully done and I will have to give credit to Condon and MR for making it something that was not creepy. The trick will be if that will hold true in Part 2! Kristen and Rob really shined in this one. I felt like they were allowed to show the range of their characters and their chemistry was out of this world. I always think they have amazing chemistry but it was radiating off of them in this film. It seems like MR was finally listening or SM put her foot down or Condon changed things up…or all of the above, because the Cullens were FINALLY able to show themselves as mates. The moments were quick but not rushed and you could also see the family dynamic. The wolf pack was great in this one as well. I am not a wolf pack fan but I enjoyed seeing them with clothes on and more in wolf form. The wolf telepathy was great to me. I know some fans thought it was cheesy but I think if you read the books you could understand what was happening in that scene. The two members of the wolf pack that stood out the most to me were Sam and Leah. Chaske and Julia did a great job with their performances and the intensity. I cannot wait for Part 2 and the scene after the end credits made me wish it was coming out sooner. At the same time, I am happy to have time to appreciate this film and enjoy one more year of mania within the saga. Overall, the wedding and honeymoon were my favorite scenes. The music and scenes from previous films was great and the acting was amazing. I loved that the Cullens finally had more time to shine and while the birth scene is very graphic, it is definitely true to the book. Kudos to MR, Condon, the cast, and everyone involved because while Twilight is still at the top of my list, BD Part 1 definitely leaves Eclipse and New Moon in the dust. Let’s hope for a great box office run! |

I personally thought this was the best so far in the series. It stuck really close to the book and I loved the wolves telepathic parts. As some have said above, I think people that have read the books will enjoy this movie more than others. The sexy scene I thought was done, tastefully. I don’t think I would take anyone under 13 to see it, but that’s just me. I will say this, I have noticed a lot of change in the actors skills. I’m highly impressed with Robert in this movie. I think he’s really starting to understand Edward in the concept of “Bella” dying. I actually felt for him when he “yelled” at Bella. It was so emotional, so many feelings for him and Bella. And of course Taylor, amazing in this movie. He has really grown as an actor. I really hope that the next part will live up to this one. Bill really did a great job. I think all the directors have done great with their versions of the movies. I can’t say there was one that I didn’t like. Thanks to Summit for believing in this little story. *By the way…..the preview for Hunger Games looks AMAZING!!!* |

This became my favorite of the four. The dress was a little plain, but pretty. I have to say, I hated the rings. I loved the toasts, especially Charlie’s. I liked Edward’s flashback. The seemed to cover just about everything from the book, but most of it was a little too brief. I think having already read the books would be critical to enjoying this film. It would have been nice if they spent more time on the honeymoon and the fued between Rosalie and Jacob. Her wedding dress was a little plain, but pretty. I hated the rings. I really liked the toasts, expecially Charlie’s. The wedding was prettier than I imagined. I was impressed at how they handled the pregnancy, she looked terrible on that table and really looked dead. The way the venom was affecting her blood was gross, but a nice touch. The blood drinking and back breaking earned a “ew” from the audience and myself. I invisioned Renesme as being prettier. All and all I liked the movie and I will definately see it in the theater again. |

I loved this movie. I think they did a great job with it. I had to watch it twice because I was part of the many who left the theater during the credits & before the clip at the end. I loved the toasts at the wedding. Emmit’s toast was hilarious, as was Charlies. Everyone in the theater laughed at those two. I really liked how they kept to the book for the most part. I would have loved to see the “fido” bowl part. When Bella drank the blood, some kid in the theater said, “Eww Gross”. Everyone started laughing at that because the theater was absolutely silent at the time. LOL I think they did an awesome job with the honeymoon. I don’t know that I would bring anyone under 13 to see it, but it was more than I had thought we would get considering the other movies. I thought it was cool that SM was in the wedding scene. She had such a big grin on her face, almost as if Bella was her own daughter. LOL From the previews I had thought they were going to have the honeymoon scene under a waterfall instead of in the ocean. I was glad that they actually took that from the book. They really captured the relationship & love portrayed in the book. I think anyway. I have to re-read the book because I don’t remember any actual physical contact between the Cullens & the wolf pack in the book. I could be wrong though as it has been well over a year since I read it. I thought they did a great job portraying the communication between the wolves & Jacob imprinting. I was surprised at where they ended the movie. I was expecting it to end with Bella giving birth & Edward biting her. I thought it was great that they put the imprinting part in there & dressing Bella, as well as her opening her eyes. That was very cool. I am so excited to see part 2. I want to see how they portray Bella’s power & her reacting to being a new born in the room. I wanna also see her reaction when she finds out that Jacob imprinted. LOL. I’m sure they have to keep that in the movie. LOL. I sort of wish they could go back and remake Eclipse with Condon. I think Eclipse could be done better with more of a focus on the love triangle & Bella and Edward. In all truth, Eclipse was my favorite book with Breaking Dawn a close second. As far as the movies go, Breaking Dawn is by far my favorite. |
