breaking dawn header Breaking Dawn Convention Pictures

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend the Breaking Dawn Convention. It was a blast and being able to see the stars up close was amazing. Tinsel and Boo Boo attended the entire convention and made it very memorable for everyone. Things were electric when the Cullen cast, Rob, Kristen, Taylor, and Condon took the stage. It was very interesting to hear Melissa Rosenburg explain scenes she wrote in or kept out of the films. She was asked about several parts of Eclipse and her answers were not the most satisfactory, so she finally just said that the characters in the books are different from the characters in the films, especially Bella who she called “proactive” in the films. It was nice to see her answer the tough questions and not dodge them. We were shown special footage from the film, which only made me want to see it more! You can check out my pictures here!

Robert’s Thoughts on the Breaking Dawn Birth Scene

r TWILIGHT large570 300x125 Roberts Thoughts on the Breaking Dawn Birth Scene

“The Miracle of Life,” that now-retro video show to confused and sometimes shocked middle school students in sex ed classes across the country, has largely been the only reference point for the machinations child birth for tween audiences, montages on MTV’s “Teen Mom” not withstanding.

That’s about to change — and if they thought their 80s-made educational film was unsettling, tweens better brace themselves for some vampire birth.

The birthing scene in “Breaking Dawn,” the final book in Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight Saga,” features Bella finally producing her Edward Cullen-fathered vampire baby, Renesmee. It’s a graphic scene in the book, but words and images are far different beasts, which makes one wonder just how faithful the Bill Condon-directed film will be to the book in that regard.

According to Robert Pattinson, it’ll be just as potent.

“The birth scene is so different from everything else in the movie. For a fantasy series it goes quite far. It’s hardcore, it’s graphic. There’s no other way to do it. It was fun,” he told the audience at Comic Con on Thursday (via HitFix.com).

“You never really get to play Edward in a way that he’s literally so aware of his own helplessness,” he added (via Moviefone). “Either he’s completely in control or pretends he is, but here there’s no on else around, and there’s nothing he can do and he’s just desperate. Normally when that happens, Bella comes in and saves the day. But Bella isn’t there … he’s totally annihilated by the situation”

Kirsten Stewart, the laboring mother-to-be in question, went into more detail.

“She’s literally choking on blood she’s been drinking, literally out of her mind. It was always in my head that she’s been able to fight harder than anyone because of that little bit in her, literally,” she laughed (via Movieline). “And at that part I got to play with having venom run through your veins and start to feel the hell that that is, and that’s after a moment of sheer exuberance of looking at your baby for the first time.”

That should please Meyer, who repeatedly emphasized her desire for the movie to match the book’s intensity.

“I’d love to have the birth scene be every bit as awful — I know it freaked people out, but for those of us who have been through childbirth a couple times, it is a scary, terrifying experience,” she told MTV News last year. “This is just taking that to an exponential power, and I love going there.”

Stewart said that she had a hard time with the actual child, once it was in the flesh and walking.

“I couldn’t pick up the kid sometimes. We had Mackenzie Foy, who is an amazing little kid. Like the coolest kid ever,” she said (via PopSugar). “Smarter than me in a lot of ways. Then we had these other girls to play the younger version of Mackenzie. They’re all great, awesome kids, but I’m awkward, I can’t handle that. I look ridiculous picking them up, they were bigger than me in some cases!”

CBA Correspondent Stuffie Edward TwiCon Recap

As handler for Stuffie Edward I have been authorized to release the following report :D

Stuffie Edward arrived on Friday after a very long flight from NH.  Shortly after arrival we were both interviewed for Reelz Channel in the spot for Cullen Boys Anonymous.  After that we moved to registration where we got our first views of how vast this convention was going to be.  Meeting some fantastic fans in the line around us we made some quick friends that we found several times during the convention.  We attended the welcome dinner with appearances from the Hillywood Show and Evil Iguanas along with a Becka and Bailey 2 of the TwiCon partners.  After that it was time to relax in the fantastic hotel room at the Sheraton Dallas.

After waking up early we were ready to go for the first day of convention events.  We were sadly not able to get in for 100 Monkeys autographs however we did go into the vendor hall and meet several event organizers and amazing vendors along with some fans that we met the first day waiting to register.  Attending the Webmasters panel was interesting.  Stuffie Edward commented about learning a great deal from both His Golden Eyes and Twilight Series Theories, also attending was Kaleb Nation and Twilight Moms.  We were in attendance at the CullenBoysAnonymous meet up room where several of his stuffie travel companions; namely another Stuffie Edward, Bella, Alice and Emmett; were up for raffle.  We met some great CBA’s including Kismet and were very popular.  We even had other convention gowers running down from the 37th floor for Cullen-sicles which were in high demand.  After dinner it was time for the 100 Monkeys concert featuring National Rifle and Mitch Hansen.  The openers were FANTASTIC and Stuffie Edward greatly enjoyed rocking out with the other Twihards.  When 100 Monkeys took the stage the yell was almost deafening.  The rocked with a short set featuring a CBA favorite The Monkey Song.  With the Bana-ger in the crowd and everyone dancing it was a wonderful show.

Early morning again on day 3 for pictures with Jackson, Q&A and Autograph signings.  While waiting we met more fans of Jasper/Jackson and of course paused for a photo op (Stuffie Edward can be such a ham).  Stuffie Edward declined to be photographed with Jackson as he wanted to give me my shining moment :D and we moved on to wait for Q&A.  Press pass got us at 2nd row on the right side of the stage and though short the panel was a lot of fun.  Meeting other press from several other fan sites and local press was a great education.  We were (as press) able to attend the meet and greet where we did get some photos of the cast interacting with their fans.  One CBA member had the night that made her TwiCon experience when she was able to meet Kellan and have him sit next to her.  After that was the Volturi Ball.  Stuffie Edward was in attendance however declined to be photographed again, this time because he was not in costume.  The masks and dresses of all attending were amazing.  We saw Marcus Foster, Bobby Long and Sam Bradley perform an acoustic set and were very impressed.  Personally since I had not seen them before I think I have some new CD’s to purchase.  There was an additional meet and greet table with all three that we attended and got some pictures however since the lack of costume Stuffie Edward did not appear again.  After that returning to our room for another 3 hours of sleep till the next day.

Sunday morning was the hectic check out and good byes and then coffee with Jackson event.  After a wonderful Q&A (thank you Jackson for the time it was great) the moderators told us to look and see if there was a star on the bottom of our chairs.  Stuffie Edward was that lucky recipient though he gave up that honor to CBA’s biggest Jackson fan Jess, upon which she got her Twilight book with a personalized autograph.  After that of course it was the sad time of saying goodbye to all our new friends and old ones alike, wishing all safe travel back home.

Personally I would like to add that working with Stuffie Edward is a great experience and a wonderful ice-breaker when you have no idea what to say.  Please let me know what you think of his interactions and what else you would like to see.

TwiCon Fan Report
Aug 5

Categories: Kellan Lutz, twicon

Devon Jones was kind enough to send us her fan report from TwiCon! We posted her pics from the 100 Monkeys TwiCon concert in an earlier post. Click HERE to see them.

She was part of a big group of girls that went to TwiCon together and had a great time!!! Here is her report:

Thursday was registration and the welcome reception…kind of a slow day.

Friday was all of the breakout sessions, including a Quileute storyteller…she was amazing! It was also the 100 Monkeys concert…they were AMAZING! Friday night, my friends and I went out to Ghostbar. When we got there, we found out that Samantha Ronson was the DJ so we walked up to the DJ booth to get pics of her….that’s when we saw Kellan standing right behind her! He was just chilling, texting most of the time. He walked off the booth for a little bit. My friend Jennifer was coming out of the bathroom, and almost ran right into him. So she chatted with him for a bit, and when we saw her talking to him, I walked over to say hi too. He is absolutely adorable, and couldn’t have been nicer! He let us take pics with him, when I put my arm around him, and he did the same, and then he pulled me so close and tight it very literally almost pulled me off my feet! We took our picture, he kissed me on the cheek, and I told him thank you!! Highlight of the weekend.

Saturday was all the celeb stuff at TwiCon. The photo and autograph sessions, and the Q and A. I had my photo with Alex Meraz. I had initially signed up for Ashley Greene, but she had a commitment that forced her out of the Con. Also, FYI, Mike Welch was under the weather…so everyone who had Ashley and Mike got transferred to Alex. I have to admit I wasn’t that disappointed, because he is such a Hottie McHotterson. Anyway, I walked into the little area for the pic, and I held my hand for a handshake. Meanwhile, he held his hands out for a hug. So, to maximize weirdness, I held my hands out for a hug, and he switched to one hand for a handshake. So we were doing this strange little switcharoo with our hands because we could decide if we were going to hug or shake hands, and he said, “Whatever! Come here!” and gave me a HUGE hug…all the way around the body. He squeezed me so hard that his fingers are visibly pressed into my arm! We are both cheesing and laughing so hard in the picture.

Then we had the Q and A. Peter Facinelli is such a charmer! He’s got a great sense of humor, despite no sleep the night before. In fact, at one point, he acted like he was going to throw a paper airplane, but instead grabbed it and ran all the way to the back of the room with it, right down the aisle we were sitting on! He remarked, “That was terrifying!” There was a huge megatron/screen thing behind them so that the people in the back could see well. During the Q and A I was more glad than during any other time of the Con that I had brought my good camera gear!!

Immediately after was the autograph sessions. I had signed up for Kellan and Peter. The lines were double the length of the huge room, so by the time I got to both of the guys, I could tell they were kind of spent. They were being wonderful about it though…still smiling the whole way through. So, of course, I asked Kellan if he had as much fun as we did last night at Ghostbar. I doubt he could have…assuming he didn’t see one of his biggest celeb crushes and have his picture taken with her. He said he had fun, and thought Samantha Ronson was amazing, which I agreed with. Then I totally let his hawtness overtake me, and I couldn’t say anything else. Hmmmm.

The Manic Panic Twilight girl (the girl in the pic with body paint that looks sort of like tattoos) was kind of a walking advertisement for the Manic Panic makeup people. They were ‘Cullenizing’ people, making their skin white with shadows under their eyes. They were also doing painted on masks for the masquerade ball and Twilight faux tattoos. There are pics of me and my friends with the cast of the always hilarious Hillywood Show. The pics of the masks are my fave…I hand painted and made every single one of them for our group of friends…there is an up-close of me and my friend Amy. Mine is the Breaking Dawn inspired mask, and hers is of Edward and Bella in the forest where she tells him that she knows he’s a vampire. The group shot is with the reporter from the Reelz Channel. She did a full interview with me about all of our masks and what they were inspired by, which will air on the Reelz Channel (Dish 299) next Monday at 9pm Central!

Sunday was the final day, and was also the day of the Jackson Rathbone Coffee Chat.. It was an hour long session with him, where one of the ladies from Twilight Moms and the head of the Official Twilight Myspace (or Facebook…don’t remember) were the MCs. He was great…hilarious. Really funny, dry sense of humor with lots of puns. He even made reference to the fact that he belonged in the ‘punitentiary’…LOL. He used his hands a lot when he spoke, and made a lot of jokes. He also said the word ‘dirty’ a lot, which was ok with me :) His family was there sitting at one of the back tables. They did a random choosing of 25 fans for a free autograph by putting star shaped sticky notes underneath chairs. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to receive a star, but there were sure some excited girls!!

Is anyone else jealous they went to Ghostbar & ran into Kellan? Lucky ducks!
