Emmett and Jasper have just missed her as she ran through the forest and then she jumps the ravine, thinking they can’t follow. Is this maybe when Edward and Bella are in Florida?

The 25-year-old actor chatted with the mag about career longevity, looking forward to Eclipse and what’s really changed about his life.

On the action in Eclipse: “You read these books and you can’t wait to do some of the cool stuff. For myself, I read all four of the Twilight books as soon as I could and then I was so excited to get to Eclipse. You never know if you are going to make it that far. It’s up to the fans if they want to see the sequel, or see the second book, on the big screen. I’m just glad we made it this far. I love my character. I love this franchise.”

On what’s changed since Twilight took over the world: “You know it’s really funny because … It hasn’t really changed my life as Kellan outside of acting. I still hang out with my dogs. I still go to the same places and shop. It’s funny, maybe I have to make sure I’m wearing the same color socks or the same shoes or I don’t look like a bum … But really the only thing that has changed is the fans are great, we have more fans.”

On planning his career out: “Careers do change and unfold differently. Especially now as it’s very saturated where you have to be choosy, and can’t just take it for the money. You really have to be smart. You have to know who is directing it and who you’re working with. It’s all about longevity. You need to play it smart, just like any job.”

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have closed deals to reup their roles in the next Twilight movie, “Breaking Dawn.”

Greene and Lutz signed contracts last nights, acccording to sources close to the deal.

Movie studio Summit Entertainment, which has made billions off the franchise, had been in negotiations with the two supporting characters since last week, but the two actors reportedly wanted pay increases for the next movie since the studio did not allow them to renegotiate on the second and third films.

Summit caved in after the two actors held out for more cash. “The studio realized how valuable Ashley and Kellan are to the franchise and did what they needed to do to keep them,” said a source close to the situation.

Reports said the kids have been trying to score paydays of $1.5 million. Sources said they two will receive close to that amount to continue on in their roles. “It was a good deal,” said the source.

The money is still much lower than what Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are supposedly pulling in.

“Breaking Dawn” will be the fourth and fifth movies of the Twilight franchises.

Catherine Hardwicke and Nikki Reed mention the Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene situation:

“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke has been looking on as the actors she originally cast for a little independent movie adaptation of a young adult novel renegotiate their contracts for the final installments of what is now a blockbuster franchise. With Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz reportedly asking for millions more to make the “Breaking Dawn” movies, Hardwicke warns that negotiations with Summit Entertainment “could turn ugly.”

“Ashley and Kellan have agents, managers, lawyers … you get all of these outside influences telling you [that] you should hold out for this much because you’re such an important part of the franchise,” Hardwicke told UsMagazine.com at the “Twilight” convention in Vancouver over the weekend. The director speculated that the actors themselves aren’t the ones holding out for a bigger paycheck. (The split of the novel into two movies hasn’t been announced while contract negotiations are under way.)

“Possibly, [replaced co-star] Rachelle [Lefevre] and Ashley and Kellan might not even be all that involved,” she said. “They have all the other people telling them things and a lot of stuff can get mishandled, like what happened with Rachelle. There’s so many possible misunderstandings. It breaks my heart.”

So, what does she think will come of the negotiations? “It could turn ugly. Do [these actors] deserve more money? Probably they do, on one level. But if everybody makes so much money, then … it’s complicated,” she added. “What a mess!”

Recently, MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, who wouldn’t comment on the contract negotiation rumors. “I can’t comment on my business affairs, sorry. I can’t comment on other people, either,” she said, but did add she had yet to speak to “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon. “I haven’t, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Gossip Cop asked today if you think Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz leaving the Saga would hurt the series.

The fact that GC is not squelching this as a rumor, has to give one pause. They seem to have an “in” at Summit when it comes to Twilight rumors, which make me think that if you want your feeling about Alice and Emmett heard by the powers that be, leaving a comment on Gossip Cop’s post might be a good way to go. I’m just sayin’….

Reports are swirling today that Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz might leave the “Twilight” franchise before Breaking Dawn begins production if contract negotiations crumble.

While it’s expected that the Big Three of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are close to finalizing deals to complete the run, Greene and Lutz are rumored to be looking for more than producers are willing to spend.

Bryce Dallas Howard is taking over for Rachelle Levefre in the upcoming Eclipse, so there is a precedent for secondary role replacements.
