Breaking Dawn's Egyptian vampire 'Tia'

Breaking Dawn's Egyptian vampire 'Tia'

It is always nice to hear stories from new actors on set!  Angela Sarafyan, who plays Tia from the Egyptian coven, talks to MTV.com about what it it like to be on the set of the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn movie:

On director Bill Condon: “I went on-set and met Bill Condon and he is truly such a great, great person. I’m honestly humbled by the fact that he is kind and generous and, with the enormity of this film, has been so graceful about giving every actor their time…it’s not as pressure-filled as you’d think. It felt like an independent project where everyone’s having a nice time, no one’s pressured.”

On her Breaking Dawn co-stars: “They’re very kind and sweet and normal and awesome. I don’t think I could find anything bad to say about a single person on the set. They’re quite humble and normal people. It was a delight to come into that. About being the new kid on the set, there’s so many of us, we’ve all become a family ultimately, it’s been quite easy.”

She sounds like a sweetheart! I can’t wait for her to bring Tia alive on the silver screen.  See the rest of the interview here, where she goes on to discuss working with Stephenie Meyer, and shooting the big fight scene against a green screen.

Kellan: I don’t want to be “a piece of meat” my entire career.

KellanasEmmett Kellan: I dont want to be a piece of meat my entire career.

This is another reason why I love Kellan. He knows that being seen as just another shirtless guy is no way to build a career and to be taken seriously as an actor there has to be more than that. I found this interview from US Magazine very interesting.

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz holds no illusions about the nature of his stardom. “Producers and studios know what sells,” the impressively fit actor told UsMagazine.com during a Monday phone interview. “It’s nice to be one of the guys that can help sell a movie by taking his shirt off.” Lutz, 25, recently topped Men’s Health magazine’s inaugural list of Best Summer Bodies — beating out such six-packed studs as Matthew McConaughey, Twilight costar Taylor Lautner, Zac Efron and others.

Still, Lutz told Us, “By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It’s funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off.”

Meyer talks about picking her battles, Eclipse Movie, and much more!

Categories: Fans, Stephenie Meyer, breaking dawn, eclipse movie, interviews, summit entertainment

Alright so everyone on here that knows me also knows that I am not the biggest SM fan at times but this interview has made me really appreciate her in ways that I didn’t. I always knew that Summit had way more say than she ever could for the movies, but this interview shows just how much Summit tries to change up the books for the movies and how much SM fights to keep it the same. It is an audio interview so I have posted the transcript below. I know it is long but every TwiHard should read this!

Often scenes from the books are changed or left out all together for the flow of the movie. Stephenie explains how and why she picks her battles when it comes to depicting her books into movies. When do you choose your battles? In seeing the movie and the book. You have the book, they have a vision. They throw out a line, and you’re like “They would have never said that”

SM: It’s really difficult. Because you do have to choose which ones you won’t bow down on. And I know that even when I really say “Okay, I cannot live with that” It’s still 1 out of 10 I’ll get it. When I really throw a fit. Which is rare. It is really rare because I realize ya know, they’re making a movie. When they come to me for advice, I’m happy say things. There are very few things that I will….and its things that just feel so wrong, that there’s no other way. And some of them are such small little things that, like with the…(?) we were talking about. A lot of that was (?) related. It’s harder than you would think. It’s funny. Some things you take for granted in movies. And it’s amazing how difficult
some things are to do. One of the reasons we were back there was because, there was one blocking issue I had. And nobody else cared, but for me, it was such a key blocking thing. It physically had to look this way. That one, I was like “I really have to have this. I can’t see this like this” & everyone was like really?

Alison: All the fans would have cared. Not one fan would have been happy with that.

SM: The one thing I scheduled my whole schedule around in Eclipse was I had to be there for the tent scene was number one. That was on the calendar. And I had the other scenes in order of priority, and I had those dates booked. I was already going to Vancouver and they had a weather problem. They filmed it when I wasn’t there. So I’m like “Okay, I’m not gonna panic.” But in the original version, Jacob gets into the sleeping bag (whispers) and doesn’t touch her.

Alison: Like just his legs are gonna keep her warm from the bottom of the sleeping bag?

SM: It’s impossible to keep someone warm when doing that. And then you have the extra added thing. This is the girl he is in love with and he’s in a sleeping bag with her….I mean, come on. I was just like, “what…why aren’t you touching her? Why isn’t he touching her?” People are going to freak out.

Alison: Everybody would have freaked out

SM: It doesn’t make sense that he would do that and you’d sit there and say “why? He’s supposed to be warming her up, right?” Even if you had no baggage from reading the books, you would still have the same reaction. It was interesting, because the original script for it, I was fine with but then they tweaked the script because they felt like one part of the conversation got a lot more in depth in the original we kind of already knew. You know, you have the whole rehash when Edward’s talking about “when I first met her” and they pulled that and instead went with the later part of the scene where Jacob’s like “how did you cope?” And I think the emotionality of it just went through the roof.

Kim: The dialogue between Rob and Jake, I mean Edward and Jacob

Alison: And it was so long, and I loved how long it was

SM: Yeah! I love that they just let it happen. I think that, that was Rob’s best day of shooting. It was so funny, did you guys hear all the rumors about the problems? Rob was only supposed to be there for the last day. The first two were Jacob and Bella scenes where the wig had been a problem. The last day was the tent was the tent and that was it & it was a pretty easy shoot. The only problem for that day was that Kristen had the stomach flu and luckily, she was supposed to lay there, but between every like scene, oh, she was so sick. And Taylor, he was over digging around, grabbing garbage cans. Why is Taylor taking the garbage? Takes them over there so she could puke in them. It was so sweet. Everybody was taking care of her and everything, but it was a hard day. You look at actors and a lot of people are like “I wanna be an actor” it’s so hard and then to sit there. She’s wanting to puke and she’s all feverish, and she’s having to do the shivering. She was a work horse that day. That was our only drama was that poor Kristen got sick, and I think it was food poisoning. But it was a great shoot. It was one of those days where at the end you’re like “We really killed it today! It’s gonna be great!” It was a great day.

HOW SHE WILL OVERSEE ALL THIS AS A PRODUCER IN ‘BREAKING DAWN’

Alison: What made you decide to put the producer hat on for Breaking Dawn? And what do you think you’ll bring to that last movie?

SM: I don’t think it’s gonna change that much. I do feel like, I mean Breaking Dawn is tricky. It’s real tricky. Now, I feel like we have more of a handle on it. Because the script and with Bill Condon. I am more calm, but originally, I was very much on the fence. Maybe we shouldn’t make this into a movie, ya know. Some things can’t be made into a movie and come across exactly the right way. So it was a big struggle for me to go forward. I knew it would disappoint a lot of people, and that was really one of the main instances, that people would be like “What?” I didn’t want to disappoint people. So I was concerned. And still my plan was and still is, to be there every day. And so as the producer, can do that. So it’s really a lot about being….in the room. And it’s going to be a lot of upheaval in my life, but I felt like it was important. And then also, it’s the last one. So I kinda feel like, I’m going to commit to this for this year, I’ll get it done, and then I won’t do that again. And then also. I get to be more involved with it. Ya know, I think we will have a little more of the same music, which will be a big deal. Instead of hearing about the decisions afterward. We will be there when they are being made. That’s gonna help. With Eclipse, I was pretty much, right on the line with producing. I was very much involved with the script and a lot of the choices. So it’s not a huge difference, but it’ll be really, an interesting experience.

Kim: Well we breathed a sigh of relief when we heard you were producing.

SM: I don’t know if those sighs are a little bit premature. I’m not sure that there will be that much more that I can do. um…..but, I keep fighting. I can’t quite make myself give up, so.

Alison: We do appreciate it.

Rob Defends Kristen in Entertainment Weekly Interview

KstewEW Rob Defends Kristen in Entertainment Weekly Interview      RobEW Rob Defends Kristen in Entertainment Weekly Interview

This was such a hot button topic when first posted so I thought it would be interesting to hear what Kristen and Rob say about her comment in Elle. Apparently, Rob has a lot to say…..

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –
Did Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart confess their rumored romance backstage on “The Oprah Winfrey Show?” That’s what one online report suggested in the wake of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” stars’ appearance (with co-star Taylor Lautner) on the show in May, but Kristen told Entertainment Weekly how things really went down.

“She glided over to me – and she was strong, by the way, really firm hands – and she said, ‘How are you?’ I said, ‘Good.’ She said, ‘Good. Are you nervous?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I am, but I think I’m OK.’ She said, ‘Good. We’ll have fun,’” Kristen told the mag. “And then she just walked away. And that was the most I talked to her backstage.”

However, Kristen also addressed something she did say – a recent comment in the media comparing paparazzi photographs of herself to rape, which she later apologized for.

“I’m so sensitive about stuff like that. It is the one subject that means a lot to me. I made one movie directly concerning it and I made another one where my character has a horrible history of rape. I talked to a lot of people about it,” Kristen told EW. “I used the wrong word. I should have said ‘violated.’ But I’m young and emotional. It’s just the way it goes sometimes. I probably shouldn’t say this, but I just feel like people got so excited once they saw that it was me. It was like, ‘Sweet! Lets get her!’”

Robert also defended Kristen, taking aim at the “little nerds… on their little blogs” who had attacked the comment.

“None of those associations came out and gave a statement [criticizing Kristen] without being called upon by the media first – who were doing it specifically to get hits on their websites,” he noted to EW. “That whole system of Internet journalists, where no one is called to account, is almost entirely about hate. All these people get away with doing it because they have no responsibility to anyone. All they need is to get a salacious headline and people click on it, because it’s easy.”

However, Rob added that doing “The Twilight Saga” gave the cast plenty of interview opportunities – and chances to defend each other.

“That’s the only way,” he said of using interview time to dispel rumors. “All of us stick together as well. There are so many little nerds behind their computers, on their little blogs.”
“You can say so much more than me. It’s insane,” Kristen said, chiming in.
“That’s not true at all,” Rob responded. “When did I say anything [controversial?]”
“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is due in theaters June 30.

I personally find it very endearing and charming that Rob took a stance about this issue. It was very knight in shining armor of him to do! Tell us what you think! Do you think Rob will get the same kind of backlash for his comments as Kristen?

Eclipse Production Budget about $65 Million

eclipsex Eclipse Production Budget about $65 Million
Rob Pattinson will be “a little nude” for the sex scenes in Bel Ami in this USAToday interview with the “trinity” when they were in Chicago for Oprah.
Also, this-

Stewart says of Eclipse’s positive early reception:…And they gave us so much more money this time. So that is exciting.”
Pattinson, looking bemused, quickly clarifies her statement. “For the film. The budget.”
Stewart is chagrined. “Oh, my God. No, no. That didn’t even occur to me. They gave us so much more money to make the film look good!”
The leads did get raises… while the production’s price tag grew to $65 million, still modest compared with similar franchises.

Here is the article:

Dashingly disheveled Robert Pattinson has an infectious, high-pitched laugh that would never do for his seductive vampire lover-boy, Edward Cullen.

Buff-and-polished Taylor Lautner is pocket-size compared with the looming stature of his werewolf counterpart, Jacob Black.

Casual yet cool Kristen Stewart can be a real chatterbox, unlike her moody Bella Swan, the high schooler in a romantic tug of war between these two supernatural objects of teen desire.

Lucky girl, right? “Yeah, but that’s in the movies,” Stewart says about bringing to life the modern-day Gothic heroine from the insanely popular Twilight book series (85 million copies sold so far). “I’m just the ultimate fan. If you read a story and you like it andconnect to it, it probably means you’ve inserted yourself in the story, and I get to do that on the most glorified level possible.”

Hollywood fantasy regularly blends with everyday reality for these three blazing-hot rising stars. It has taken a while for a cultural navigator like Oprah Winfrey to zero in on the heat behind the literary-spawned phenom. But on this early May morning, Twilight fever is raging at Harpo Studios as the actors file into the backstage area after taping a show that aired Thursday. The occasion? Eclipse, the third chapter in an already billion-dollar worldwide franchise that arrives June 30.

The actors are unfazed by the shrieking adoration of a largely female audience, many in black Twilight T’s — Team Edward and Team Jacob are duly represented — and all handpicked for their passion for the epic movie series based on author Stephenie Meyer’s four-part saga.

“It’s so nice sometimes, preaching to the converted,” says Pattinson, 24, the London-born overnight sex symbol and primary reason for the screams. Thanks to his devoted worshipers, he has been elevated from a little-known Harry Potter supporting player to one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in less than three years. They were out in force the night before at a Winfrey-sponsored screening of an unfinished print of Eclipse. Afterward, a firestorm of fan Tweets rife with “OMGs” gushed about the much-anticipated sequel to 2008’s Twilight and last year’s New Moon.

Once Stewart, 20, painstakingly signs Winfrey’s guest book and Lautner, 18, stops practicing his grape-tossing parlor trick, the castmates settle into a buttery leather sofa to talk about such topics as the iconic moments that are re-created in Eclipse, run-ins with other celebrities and what the post-Twilight future holds.

But, first, the pain of fame that comes from being on the paparazzi’s most-wanted list is addressed. When New Moon opened last fall, barely a day went by without seeing a headline about Lautner and country cutie Taylor Swift or speculation on whether Pattison and Stewart are a real-life couple.

Although, lately, the frenzy has calmed somewhat, judging by the number of Twilight-free magazine covers at grocery checkouts. “I don’t know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year,” Pattinson says.

“That’s totally the reason,” Stewart concurs. “They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there’s no story. We are just good hiders now.”

Such subterfuge includes neither confirming nor denying that they are in a relationship. Yet there clearly is some sort of special connection between the two, what with their playful teasing and personal asides. Let’s just say it wasn’t Lautner who placed a hand on Pattinson’s leg during a portion of the interview.

‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke…

It’s funny all of the things we get to learn about Robert Pattinson when he’s rambling! Last thursday’s Oprah taught us that Rob wanted to be a rapper when he was younger! How crazy is that?

This article talks about how Rob might have a record deal in his future…

British actor Robert Pattinson appeared on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ on Thursday, May 13, where he opened up about his career dreams, before striking gold as a vampire in the film series ‘Twilight.’

“I used to want to be a rapper when I was, like, 14,” Pattinson, who turns 24 today, told a surprised Oprah, as he explained his technique for pinning down an American accent. “I swear to God.” Although a substantial amount of time and career developments have elapsed since Pattinson’s initial dream of becoming a rapper, if the Brit actor was to seriously consider a profession in rhyming, he might have a deal waiting for him at G-Unit Records.

G-Unit CEO, 50 Cent, recently told MTV News that he was on the hunt for new artists and talent to join his record label. Fifty said that he was willing to mold aspiring rappers into future G-Unit soldiers, before going on to vocalize that Pattinson might be a good fit. “Robert Pattinson,” 50 said, as he thought of his top picks. “He has a big enough following to be the frontline. ‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke.”

We’re sure Oprah can make an introduction here. The next installment of the film series, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,’ hits theaters on June 30.

Who else would buy Rob’s cd? Me!

Finnish Magazine Asks Rob Pattinson about “The Pattz Hysteria”

Me+Naiset+15.4.2010+%281%29 Finnish Magazine Asks Rob Pattinson about The Pattz Hysteria

Robert Pattinson interview in the Finnish journal , “Me Women.”  Translation provide by  ah_muse_sings for  RobertPattinsonNewsUK:

Teenaged girls hyperventilating to point of fainting, uncontrollable tears, repeating OMG.

Robert Pattinson- the “It Boy” – hottest Hollywood has to offer. He is forced to leave restaurants through kitchens…

“In a way notoriety feels fun and I enjoy walking in the middle of bodyguards, who dutifully kick people out of the way, but what else can I do? When the screaming crowd surrounds, it feels like whatever I say wouldn’t be heard, so it doesn’t matter what I say.”

Today, in London, Robert is free to speak from the heart, without the screaming, crying or hyperventilating fans. Still, he’s frustrated, squirms in his chair, drumming the table. His tousled, messy, sexy hair is under a hat and he’s wearing a beard. He answers unsure and finishes answers with laughter.

Robert has made shyness and lack of self-confidence his trademark.

“I stumbled into acting, no intentions toward it and no idea what I was doing.”

“It’s hard to learn to improve on my acting, when in the spotlight. The pressure is great. Everyone is judging my talent by how well the movie does in the box office sales or what awards it wins.”

The Pattz Hysteria began a few years ago, with Twilight. With the third installment coming out this summer and the fourth in production, Pattz fever won’t be cooling down for quite a while.

Remember Me- “the role was meaningful as I was involved from beginning to end.”

When in the U.S., Robert does nothing in his spare time, a prisoner. He plays guitar, eats and watches movies, whatever you can do in a hotel room. His old friends, sisters or girlfriend take turns staying with him. (does not mention K-Stew by name)

The papparazzi news are not interesting. If you want to stay out of the tabloids, it works if you stay within 4 walls.

At home, in London’s rainy Soho streets, he’s free to wander, with his hat and beard just like anyone else.

“I didn’t remember that it could be so peaceful. It’s been fantastic.” He wonders if it is because of the indifference of Londoners, or his beard, which hides his recognizable square jaw and thin red lips.

“If it’s the beard, then I pray I can keep it for my next role.”
