Same Girl, Another Hysterical Fan Encounter With Rob Pattinson

2gugz8g Same Girl, Another Hysterical Fan Encounter With Rob Pattinson

Pattinson REMEMBERED her!? OK, this girl has used up her allotment of Rob Pattinson face-time…

Remember the hysterically funny fan encounter where Rob bought the girl markers? Well, she got to see him again, this being her 3rd time now, and this time he remembered her! How fun. Who doesn’t dream of that!?

Read the story of StewyLove’s 3rd encounter, this time at the Remember Me Premier in the UK:

Fan encounter number 3, Remember Me Premiere
17th March, Leicester Square, London.
The 17th March was supposed to be the day I attend my university visit day. This being the university I wish to go to this coming September. Then Summit go and decided ‘oh let’s have the Remember Me Premiere in London on the 17th March’. Not cool Summit not cool. So I ended up sacrificing my education to go (bit extreme, but yeah I blame Rob if I fail school!).

I got up at an ungodly hour to get a 2 hour train journey to London. How I managed to stay alive when I’d had 3 hours sleep was beyond me but I made it, then trekked down to Leicester Square (I’m getting good at this ’getting around London’ business, I didn’t even have to ask anyone directions. ;D)

I met up with a few friends and the wait began. It wasn’t as cold as the NM fan event so I was satisfied to sit on the floor and play games on the iPod. Wearing my pink coat as usual, a few girls actually approached me asking if I went to the NM event, because they recognised me. (I just love my coat, it never fails to bring attention).

After a million hours of waiting and a numb bum, the security started to come out and set up. After a 10 minute (literally) fight to stand up, I got up and prepared for another long wait, squished up against the barrier. (Yeah I love standing at the front, it’s fun ;D). But it was okay, staring at this giant poster was entertaining.

Remember Me Starting to Rake in the Dough!

remember me pattinson

Box office numbers are stating to look pretty darn solid for Rob Pattinson’s Remember Me, despite all the initially dire predictions! Remember when they were predicting it would barely make $8 million?
Box Office Mojo shows a lower worldwide total as of April 12  than this article, at just over $29 million.  I can’t explain the discrepancy, but either way, it is well past the movie’s cost to make.

Pretty boy “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson got a little roughed up by the film critics for his movie “Remember Me,” with Emilie de Ravin. But Rob may be getting the last laugh now that the box office numbers are rolling in.

“Remember Me,” about a troubled youth attempting to deal with tragedy, is slowly working its way around the world, opening in such far flung country as Argentina and Australia.

So far, the film has grossed $45.7 million at the box office, which obviously isn’t anything close to 3-D blockbuster “Avatar’s” billion dollar plus take. But “Remember Me” only cost $16 million to bring to the big screen.

Experts predict the film could do as much as $60 million worldwide, when all is said and done. In relative terms, that makes it a box office success, especially for a film that received lackluster reviews, mainly for the plot.

Rob felt a special connection to the film and felt it was something that had to be made. But the shear force of his popularity is probably driving the numbers.

Pattinson stars as Tyler Hawkins, who lives in posh Manhattan but is estranged from his successful father (Pierce Brosnan). Tyler is alienated and resentful, but he soon finds someone he can relate to. (Emilie de Ravin).

The film also includes Lena Olin, Ruby Jerins, Chris Cooper and Tate Ellington. “Remember Me” was directed by Allen Coulter from a screenplay by Will Fetters, and they are getting most of the bad press.

In its worldwide trek, the film opened in Argentina, France and other European countries this past weekend, and was a hit in Paris. It came in at No. 6 in the City of Light, which is not bad for an American film.

The drama’s international weekend take was $4.7 million at 2,302 screens in 36 territories, bringing its international box office to $27 million.

The film made back its money before even going overseas. So far it has grossed $18.7 million in North America, bringing the total to $45.7 million.

The film’s top foreign markets before last weekend’s openings were surprisingly Russia ($3.15m), Italy, ($2.35m), Germanyn ($1.9m), Brazil, ($1.71) the UK/Ireland ($1.5m) and Australia ($1.21m).

Going foward, the film will open in several other countries, from Chile in South America to Turkey.

And it has yet to open in several top Asian markets, such as China, Japan, and South Korea.

All in all, not a bad showing for a small indie film, and Rob’s first outing as a lead in a movie outside of the “Twilight” series — and without Kristen Stewart.

Remember Me Passes $28 Million at Box Office Worldwide

Robert Pattinson’s REMEMBER ME: $10.5 Million Foreign Box Office
by Michelle Hutton

Robert Pattinson’s romantic drama Remember Me has taken in approximately $10.5 million at the international box office up to March 28, 2010, according to figures found at Box Office Mojo. (Australia and Bulgaria, March 21.)

After being greeted by mixed-to-negative reviews, Remember Me has earned a total of $17.7 million in the United States/Canada up to April 1. Its worldwide cume currently stands at about $28.2 million — actually more than that; as stated above, international figures are one week behind.

To date, Remember Me’s top international markets have been Russia* with $3.159 million, Brazil with $1.476 million, Italy with $1.043 million, Australia with $916K (March 21), and Germany with $843K. Apparently, Robert Pattinson has a large following in those countries.

Next in line are Greece (423K), Sweden ($405K), Poland ($333K), Mexico ($270K), Portugal ($229K), and New Zealand/Fiji ($216K).

Remember Me, which was executive produced by Pattinson, officially cost $16 million. Summit Entertainment should get about half of the film’s worldwide gross (if $28.3 million, that would mean approximately $14 million or so for the studio; the box-office split, however, can vary depending on the film and the territories where it has played).

As I’ve said in previous posts, even after including advertising and distribution costs, Remember Me will most likely end up in the black after worldwide box-office rentals and ancillary revenues are added up.

In fact, this latest Robert Pattinson vehicle is already close to covering its production costs at the global box-office even though it’s just now opening in major markets such as the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Spain.

Remember Me has yet to open in Japan, China, France, South Korea, Denmark, Turkey, and Argentina and many other large and mid-size territories.

A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinson’s Film Career To Date
Mar 31

Categories: How To Be, Remember Me, Robert Pattinson, harry potter, haunted airman, little ashes, the haunted airman, twilight movie

Vanity Fair (2004)

Your big break, and your scenes are left scorching the editing room floor. That’s Hollywood for you!
Mr Pattinson’s first major role saw him appearing in the updated, Reese Witherspoon-headed Vanity Fair as Rawdy Crawley.
His big moment comes in the graveyard scene, where he pouts and looks generally moody and miffed, frilled up something chronic. You can find it in the DVD’s deleted scenes.
The Do: The famous quiff puts in an early appearance, though the do’s shorter than usual.

Ring Of The Nibelungs (2004)

TV flick that used Norse mythology as a springboard for a lot of chatter about Dragon-Slaying and the like. Pattinson’s fee funded his tuition at the Harrodian School in barnes.
R-Patz is Giselher, the king’s brother, who stows away on a voyage to Iceland. He wears a lot of Medieval-type clothing, and a lot of leather. There is actually smiling involved, which is a shock for anybody who’s not seen anything of Pattinson pre-Twilight.
The Do: It’s mullet time! Long, blonder than ever, and very pretty indeed. Nasty fringe, though.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005)

Nabbing a role in The Little Franchise That Could, Pattinson plays Cedric Diggory (or should that be Deadric?), the famously tragic figure who falls at the hand of You-Know-Who.
His performance landed him the British Star of Tomorrow award from The Times, and by all accounts Patz had a good time filming how to scuba dive for the part. Oh, and he lied in his audition, saying that he loved football so he’d get the role. Bad boy.
The Do: Posh, side-swept boys’ school look befitting of somebody called Cedric. It’s about as dangerous as a kitten in a bow.

The Haunted Airman (2006)

R-Patz finds his way around a wheelchair for another TV movie, based on Dennis Wheatley’s ‘40s occult thriller, The Haunting Of Toby Jugg.
At the time, it was a fresh, riveting idea. A disabled British airman recovers from his time in battle. Pattinson’s version was funded by the BBC and aired on BBC4 in October 2006. His performance won fans in The Stage mag, who credited his performance, which incorporated “youthful terror and world weary cynicism”.
The Do: The Cedric do’s still there. Eee, isn’t he posh?

The Bad Mother’s Handbook (2007)

Another TV film, this one alongside Catherine Tate for ITV. It’s an adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by Kate Long. He plays the boyfriend of Holly Grainger’s Charlie, whose only gone and got herself pregnant.
Stateside, ABC are planning their own TV series based on the book, with the decidedly more glamorous Alicia Silverstone to star. We doubt Patz will be involved.
The Do: Oh dear God, make it stop! Painfully floppy curtains render R-Patz nothing more than a big, walking night-hair. Needs a serious trim.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2007)

Wait just one cotton picking minute, didn’t Patz die in the last HP outing? Ah, sorry Patties, there’s no resurrection for his manly Deadric. He just appears in a photograph.
It’s little more than a cameo, but a sweet one at that.
“Sometimes I think, ‘To hell with acting,’” the actor says. “And then I realize I could be working at a shoe shop. Acting is much cooler.”
The Do: A repeat of the young, gentlemanly cut he favoured in Goblet Of Fire.

The Summer House (2008)

A short film from the London Academy, Summer House might as well have been the role that convinced the Twilight producers that he was right for Edward Cullen.
After all, he plays a dark, persuasive stalker-type who falls head-over-heels in love with a dark-haired young lady and tries everything to woo her. He’s got a bit of a Hollywood tan here; lovely.
The Do: Still long, sort of a cross between the remains of a dead rat and an aging rocker.

the summer house 2008 430 75 A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinsons Film Career To Date

How to Be (2008)

Patz shows off his skill with a guitar playing the odd-named Art (we’re guessing that’s short for Artemidoros or Arthgallo), a sort of transient low-life who means well, but seems to end up annoying everybody despite himself.
It was first released at the IFC Festival in April 2009 after having been on a screening tour. Patz won a Best Actor award at the Strasbourg Film Festival.
The Do: Dreadful! Curtains are worse than their debut in Bad Mother’s Handbook, and the eyebrows are out of control.

how to be 2008 430 75 A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinsons Film Career To Date

Little Ashes (2008)

Pattinson stretches those acting chops and makes out with a boy. In your face, Bella.
He plays infamous boundary-busting artist Salvador Dalí in the 1922-set tale, who allegedly had a gay affair with poet Federico García Lorca while studying at university in Madrid. There’s a bit where he puts his thing between his legs like Buffalo Bill in The Silence Of The Lambs.
It has been nominated for a prize at the 21st GLAAD Media Awards.
The Do: It’s all about that crazy moustache and the greasy, slicked back hair.

little ashes 2008 430 75 A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinsons Film Career To Date

Twilight (2008)

Hard to believe that there was a Twi-hard outcry when news of Pattinson’s casting was first announced. He beat 3,000 brooding hopefuls to the role.
Pattinson says the film “is a metaphor for the virtues of chastity, but it’s had the opposite effect. I get letters that say, ‘I’m going to kill myself if you don’t watch High School Musical 2 with me.’ It’s a little nuts.” Poor Patz.
The Do: That’s more like it. Patz finds his trademark do and makes teenage boys go running to the ‘dressers while forgetting how they took the piss out of the girls for doing the same with The Rachel.

twilight 2008 02 430 75 A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinsons Film Career To Date

New Moon (2009)

A diminished role for the first Twilight sequel, as Edward dumps his beloved Bella and she goes off with some wolf fella who hates wearing shirts.
It’s Patz’s favourite book in the series. He reportedly refused to have his unruly eyebrows waxed as much as in the first film.
Rumours persist that he and co-star Kristen Stewart are having a secret affair. Nobody’s talking – they don’t even talk to each other in public much.
The Do: A slightly longer, slightly darker variant on the original (to make him a bit grumpier, maybe).

new moon 2009 430 75 A Star is Born: A Look at Rob Pattinsons Film Career To Date

Remember Me (2010)

This is the flick that Patz was filming when he was hit by a car attempting to escape screaming fans. During a break in shooting, he attempted to get away from over-zealous nutjobs and got clipped by a car. Luckily he was fine.
Hollywoodland director Allen Coulter helms this indie romance, in which moody 21-year-old Tyler (Patz) falls in love with Ally (Emilie de Ravin), who lives each day as if it were her last after witnessing her mother’s murder. Cheery stuff.
The Do: He’s found his style now, rocking the short look and making us all look damned unfashionable.

Pattinson vs. Brosnan – Pierce Jokes about Fan Reactions

rob pattz headshot Pattinson vs. Brosnan Pierce Jokes about Fan Reactions

Poor Pierce Brosnan may still have  “the juice”  but not like Rob Pattinson!  I’m telling you, one of these days they will be trying to pass the Bond mantle to Rob. He may be too busy to want it.

“I remember being outside the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. We were shooting in the Oak Room and there were 2,000 girls out there from 12 to 21. Actually, there were some gorgeous looking girls out there, but they weren’t around my caravan. I had the mothers at my end and some beauties there were too! But it was very sedate by my end of the motor homes. I’d walk out and get a hearty cheer. I’d trip up the steps of the Plaza feeling very good with myself that I still have the juice. But as I’d be walking down the corridors into the Plaza I would hear this wave, this cacophony of sound as girls clamoured for Robert. His girls go through the rafters for him.”

Rob Pattinson – “Fame can be a monster that consumes your life.”
Mar 30
Posted by Joyce
Categories: Remember Me, Robert Pattinson, eclipse movie, interviews

pattison Rob Pattinson Fame can be a monster that consumes your life.

One of the best little interviews with Rob Pattinson I’ve read in a while is this new one from La Provincia, translated by Twilight Poison.  Thanks to both.

How do you interpret this comment Rob made about Eclipse – “I just hope the expectation doesn’t overshadow the movie itself, because the third installment won’t be very different from the first two.”?

Is your character in RM the closest interpretation of your on personality?
No. I think it’s impossible to represent yourself being fully aware of what you’re trying to do. I try to choose characters that are not like me at all. The more unknown they are to me, the better I can play them because then I don’t feel vulnerable.

Do you like the tortured characters?
Those are the ones that I’m being offered. Subconsciously I try to be like my characters, and I live my fantasies through them. I’d love to be a confused young person that fights for his ideals, but I’m not like that.

Everyone beats him up in RM.
I prefer to be hit than hitting. It’s more interesting.

How would you describe the movie?
It’s a movie about a life style, about love and the desire to live. The story is told through the eyes of Tyler, who is not aware of the consequences of the relationships he has.

Trauma seems to be everyone’s bond in the movie.
Yes, all the characters in the movie have faced death somehow, losing a family member. So there’s a connection with them through grief.

This is your first movie since New Moon, is that a relief?
Yes. I wanted to do a smaller film. Something with a modest budget that I could film in between filming the Twilight movies. I wanted a story that was more realistic because I was getting a bit tired of the fantasy genre. I needed to play a regular character that faced normal issues.

Do you feel the pressure of fame now?
Yes, and the industry’s pressure as well. It’s almost like everybody is looking at me. Some people are just waiting to see me crash and burn, others are convinced that I’m going to make it. But in any case, I don’t care about people’s expectations. I’m the only one who has to worry about my career.

Eclipse is right around the corner…
I know. And I’m a little angry because people will forget about my performance in Remember Me, and keep the idea they had before about me. I thought Eclipse would come out 3 months after RM, but no. I just hope the expectation doesn’t overshadow the movie itself, because the third installment won’t be very different from the first two.

Mattel has a doll with your image, there’s unauthorized biographies of you, photographers follow you everywhere. Do you feel like a brand?
Yes. Fame can be a monster that consumes your life. The only thing that bothers me is people who think they know me and try to relate to a determined image of me.
I don’t mind if Hollywood sees me as the tortured teenager. I’ll change that perception with my work.
In this industry all they care about is that you make money. It doesn’t matter if you’re the next super-hero, or the next vampire, of the next lead in a romantic comedy.

Is it hard to rest after so much attention?
It’s very hard. There’s nothing I can do but try to find moments of peace, otherwise I’d go insane. It’s annoying when people scream for you on the streets or on the supermarket, or when you’re with your friends at a pub. I appreciate my fans and their support, I’m thankful and I know I wouldn’t be where I am without them. The most annoting part is living with 100 photographers outside my house, because they never stop, I live hiding from them.
