It is time for the 2011 Teen Choice Awards and it is no surprise that Eclipse and the cast have been nominated for several awards. What I found great is that Robert Pattinson is also nominated for non-Twilight related awards for Water for Elephants. If you are between the ages of 13-19 years old, then be sure to vote! The show will air live Sunday, August 7^th, at 8/7 central on FOX.

NEW YORK (CBS) “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” was the big winner at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, but while the film and the trio of costars took home trophies, star Robert Pattinson fell short in individual categories.

The British heartthrob was in the running for Favorite Movie Actor, but lost the award to Johnny Depp. And Zac Efron edged him out again to win the trophy in the Favorite Movie Star Under 25 category.

Pattinson didn’t leave empty-handed, though – “Eclipse” was voted Favorite Movie (in the overall category) and Favorite Movie Drama. He and costars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart won the Favorite On-Screen Team award, and Stewart was a winner in her own right for Favorite Movie Actress.

Other big winners at the show: “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” “Glee,” “House,” Taylor Swift, Adam Sandler, Rihanna, “Toy Story 3,” “Hawaii Five-0″ and more.

It’s that time of year again! The People’s Choice Awards will take place this Wednesday, Jan. 5th, at 9pm ET on CBS. Of course our favorite cast and movie is up for awards, but to make things even better, Rob, Kristen, and Taylor will all be in attendance. Kristen and Taylor were announced a while ago, but today, it was announced that Rob would be there as well. Apparently, he had a few things to work out in his filming schedule, but was able to make an appearance because he did not want to disappoint the fans. You just have to love him! Cast members from one of the most-talked-about-films of 2010, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will be celebrating the holiday season with their fans at several Best Buy locations across the country.  Summit Entertainment and Best Buy are partnering to host in-store autograph signings, giving the perfect holiday gift a special touch for its recipient.  The first 200 customers to line up at each event location can receive an autograph from the cast member in attendance, with the purchase of any The Twilight Saga: Eclipse DVD, Blu-ray or Combo Pack.  Lines will open two hours prior to each event start time.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” two-disc special edition

Director David Slade’s adaptation of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” easily outshines the previous two films based on Stephenie Meyer’s supernaturally popular vampire romance book series.

To be fair, Slade, who has previous bloodsucking experience with the 2007 horror movie “30 Days of Night,” gets to sink his teeth into the most action-packed and cinematically promising novel in the four-book franchise. But the helmer, who made his feature film debut with the 2005 Sundance favorite “Hard Candy,” also proves adept at bleeding Meyer’s languid paranormal love triangle of every last possible drop of drama.

“Eclipse” delves deeper into the star-crossed tale of human teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and her werewolf best friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Usually mortal enemies, Edward’s clan and Jacob’s pack must put aside their differences to protect Bella when an army of bloodthirsty newborn vampires led by vengeful vamp Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) descends on their peaceful hamlet of Forks, Wash.

The filmmakers breathe thrilling life into the climactic battle between the newborn vampires and the allied Cullen clan and wolf pack. But the rip-and-tear action sequences won’t be enough to convert audiences who haven’t already been brought over to the “Twi-hard” side by Meyer’s books.

DVD extras: Six-part making-of documentary, two commentaries, music videos, deleted and extended scenes, photo gallery and, especially for Twi-hards, “Edward Fast Forward” and “Jacob Fast Forward” functions that let them easily watch their favorite scenes of the hero of their choice ad nauseam.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: Blu-ray and DVD were released at midnight last Friday night, as opposed to the normal Tuesday home video release, but it still managed to top the charts after only two days. The Hollywood Reporter states that over 3 million units were sold during the first forty-eight hours of release, which was more than enough to conquer the DVD sales charts.

Two other new releases arrived in the traditional Tuesday release slot, although they couldn’t come close to matching the high-powered sales of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice took second place on the DVD sales charts while Knight and Day took third place. However, both titles only managed to sell about 30% as many units as The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

While The Twilight Saga: Eclipse also took the top spot on the Blu-ray sales charts, The Expendables remained atop the DVD rental charts for the second week in a row. On the Blu-ray charts, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice took second place with the new double-feature edition Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 taking third place and Knight and Day in fourth place in 1080p sales.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was released June 30th, 2010 and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz. The film is directed by David Slade.

Unfortunately I’m not completely caught up on the top movies of 2010. However, I did see one that kept me on the edge of my seat and made my heart pound a little bit. It is none other than… The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

The movie tells a tale of romance and tragedy, longing and despair, and vampires. Not to mention, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart grace the big screen with their undeniable chemistry, making you think you are watching a true love story unravel before your eyes until you remember that one is a blood-sucking fictional creature.

The romantic vampire movie based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2007 novel set a new record for biggest midnight opening in the United States and Canada in box office history, grossing an estimated $30 million in over 4,000 theaters.

The film then scored the biggest Wednesday opening in the United States and Canada history with $68,533,840. You either love it or hate it, but I’m one of many who loved it.

Although “Eclipse” was my least favorite book in the “Twilight” series, the movies just keep getting better and better.

The third installment was by far the highest-quality film, crawling with impressive young actors and a plot that kept you guessing. Because of this, Eclipse is without a doubt one of the top movies of the year.
