I cannot believe Breaking Dawn Part 1 promoting is finally underway! The Los Angeles Convention is in less than a month, the soundtrack is already being hyped up, the interviews are rolling in……this is going to be amazing! However, as usual in this fandom, some fans are focusing on the negative. The complaint is that Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out “too late” and fans will have to wait “too long” in order to actually see the last film. There is even a petition out to try to change the date to a summer release like they did with Eclipse. I have a different outlook on the situation though, so here is a list of reasons why Breaking Dawn Part 2 coming out in November 2012 is a good thing, I think. 1. The longer the wait, the more time we have to experience the saga in film form. The quicker the films come out, the quicker it will all be over. Let’s enjoy the promos and buildup of Part 1 and then have a year to prepare ourselves for the end of the franchise. It is going to suck when it happens, so I am all for prolonging it. 2. Condon needs the time. Poor Bill had to direct two films back to back and while the filming of both is essentially over, his job is far from it. He has been finalizing Part 1, the score, and the soundtrack in the past months, plus doing promotional work. He has to decide what will go on the Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD, which will release before Part 2 comes out, and he still has to focus on the final film of the franchise. Everything he had to do for Part 1 must be done for Part 2 as well, so let’s give Condon some time to make it epic. That is a reason why Chris Weitz did not direct Eclipse even though the cast, crew, and studio loved him. There was no way he would have time to do both with such a quick turnaround. Poor Bill has his work cut out for him. 3. November is a tradition. Eclipse is the only film that broke that mold and some of us, including me, were not happy with the summer release. Twilight films are in a category of their own and they should be treated like it. Summer releases are for overhyped blockbuster films, like superhero films, but Twilight is different. November holds a dear place in my heart because I love seeing the films during that time, so let’s embrace that. 4. This last year is going to go by extremely fast. This will be it. We have 398 days until the final film of the franchise comes out and I think time is going to blur by, so let’s try to enjoy it and live in the now instead of having all this talk about making demands to move the last film closer to its end. I will admit when they first announced it would be two parts, I was annoyed because I felt that Summit was just prolonging the end to their cash cow….and they are…..but now I see the upside for us as fans. We have been given more time to drool over our favorite cast, love the interviews, indulge in fan events, wait impatiently for released material, and be the epic fandom that we are. Let’s sit back, try to relax, and enjoy the experience. It will be over soon enough. So what do you think? Do you think Breaking Dawn Part 2 should be released in summer 2012 or November 2012? What are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comment section. |

A woman whose tattoos are a tribute to cult characters she says changed her life is hoping her body art will be a winner on Sunday. Cathy Ward is obsessed with the Twilight vampire books and films – and she couldn’t carry her love much closer to her heart. An adaptation of the poster for the second film, New Moon, is tattooed across her back. Vampire Edward Cullen, played by heartthrob star Robert Pattinson, adorns her ribs. Now work has started on her arms and Mrs Ward, 50, hopes to win a prize at the Reading Tattoo Show at the Rivermead Leisure Centre. Last year she took the top portrait prize at the same event and after a year of additions she hopes the work of tattoo artist Ian, of the No Limits studio in West Reading’s Oxford Road, will catch the judges’ eye again. Mrs Ward, of Waldeck Street in Katesgrove, said she became “hooked” on Twilight at Christmas in 2009 – and now the tattoo work isn’t the only thing that is different about her. She said: “I was 17 stone, then 15½ and now I am 11½. I got hooked on the Twilight books [by Stephenie Meyer] and stopped snacking. I use the music to exercise to and now I am more or less at my target. “I was a size 24 and now I am a 10 to 12. My tatts are my reward to myself.” Mrs Ward, who makes the cream cakes at Morrison’s in Whitley, went to Ian for her first tattoo when she was 18 – but the modest Tudor rose and banners are now covered and the Twilight fan hasn’t finished yet. The work on her back cost thousands of pounds and took 13 sessions, or 27 hours, to complete. The design includes a collage of chess pieces, ribbons and other images representing the four books. Mrs Ward said her “very tolerant” husband Colin has no tattoos – he doesn’t even wear jewellery – but he likes to see her happy and “loves having a sexy wife”. And the big question: Did the tattooing hurt? “It depends where,” Mrs Ward said. “The worst was on the tailbone and I was actually biting the back of the chair.” Still think you are a bigger fan than Cathy? The previous post was accidentally deleted so if you commented on it, feel free to comment again. The topic of discussion was how much are fans entitled to when it comes to the privacy of the cast, like Rob? Should their personal lives be off limits? Why are people so intrigued about what they do when the cameras are not rolling? This is a debate that has been brought up over the past couple of years on many fansites because of the dilemma of ethics and violations of privacy. Robsten Love has a great blog post about this very subject, so read their post and then come back here to comment. *Robsten Love is a blog about Rob and Kristen. I do not always agree with their views but they are very entertaining. |

On Rob! In a recent interview with AccessHollywood and Billy Bush, the beautiful movie star confessed her crush on Rob and how she waited for almost two hours in line at the Twilight red carpet premiere to meet him, only to have her dreams dashed at the last minute. When Billy and his co-star asked Jennifer if she would be willing to report live on the red carpet for the first installment of Breaking Dawn, she could not contain her enthusiasm: Watch the video to see LJH’s interview and her adorable reaction to Billy’s suggestion!
