Rob comes in #2 for MTV’s ‘Harry Potter’ Hotties

I know it is shocking that Rob would come in second in anything. Here is what they had to say:

rob Rob comes in #2 for MTVs Harry Potter Hotties

2. Robert Pattinson

We would be remiss if RPattz didn’t make it on our list, and—prepare your rotten veggies—I’ll be the first to admit that I definitely think he is much hotter as Cedric Diggory than he is as Edward Cullen. Plus he has one of the top five most heartbreaking deaths in “Harry Potter” history, which earns him a top spot on this list. His death scene made me cry more than Sirius Black’s, and that’s saying something.

To see who came in number one as well as the rest of the list go here.

Anne Rice Calls ‘Twilight Saga’ A ‘Failure Of The Imagination’
Nov 2

Categories: MTV

Oh snap! The grand dame of vampire literature, Anne Rice, had some not-so-nice things to say about Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight Saga” universe in a recent interview with New Jersey’s The Star-Ledger while promoting her new novel “Of Love and Evil.” We’re wondering if this will spark a verbal smack-down in the bloodsucking book world!”['Twilight']’s based on a really silly premise: that immortals would go to high school. It’s a failure of imagination, but at the same time, that silly premise has provided Stephenie Meyer with huge success,” Anne said. “The idea that if you are immortal you would go to high school instead of Katmandu or Paris or Venice, it’s the vampire dumbed down for kids. But it’s worked. It’s successful. It makes kids really happy.”

It’s not too surprising that Anne had less-than-sweet nothings to whisper about the series that has made vampires the hottest supernatural property around and virtually diluted a genre that had been a sophisticated cultural metaphor. Still, wow, those are some pretty harsh words towards Stephenie! Anne did add that “it’s almost like a stroke of genius to put vampires in high school,” but that still sounds a bit derogatory to us.

When speaking about how she always viewed the vampire, Anne said, “I always thought of the vampire as being a metaphor for the outsider in each of us, the criminal, the predator. I was writing about a mythical being that represented our own dark sides.” She added, “Part of the mystery of being a human being is that mixture of the spiritual and the animalian. We have the capacity to murder, but also the capacity to love and respond and be tender to those in need.”

Anne was sure to emphasize that, despite the range of vampires presented in pop culture since she released “Interview With the Vampire” in 1976—from “The Twilight Saga” to “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries“—they are still fictional characters. “They’re fantasy characters, and we have to keep reminding ourselves of this. They don’t exist,” she said. “I get e-mails from people who are outraged that I watch ‘True Blood.’ They say, ‘How can you condone the evil of “True Blood.”‘ I say, ‘Are you kidding? Vampires aren’t real. Keep that in mind.’”

Now I have read Anne Rice and loved her work for a very different reason. She is dark and has a very different outlook on vampires. I do love Twilight and the softness SM gives to it. In the end These two women write for very different target markets and when you look at it from that view point it is easier to see where the grievances come from. So while it might not make sense for Edward to be in high school, like she said, kids love it and that is what matters.

281x21145 Ashley Greene To Host CW Fashion Special!

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have always been the most high-profile members of the “Twilight” clan, but lately, it looks like the leading men of Forks are being eclipsed (haha! see what we did there?) in real life by one of their supporting actors. Ashley Greene, who got her big break playing the role of Alice Cullen, is suddenly everywhere—canoodling in Hollywood with boyfriend Joe Jonas, opening up her closet for charity, and in a few weeks, cementing her style-savvy status as the host of a new TV special about the fashion industry.”Fashion Forward: Making It” will air on December 8th on The CW, with Greene leading a behind-the-scenes look at the young designers and celebs who’ve redefined the fashion industry over the past decade—so if you tune in, keep an eye out not just for famous tastemakers like Marcus Wainwright, David Neville and Tory Burch, but also for style-conscious celebrities like Gwen Stefani and (of course) Justin Timberlake. (Seriously, is there anything that guy doesn’t do?)

And while there’ll be plenty of glitz, glamor and sequined evening gowns, viewers can expect an eyeful of the gritty business side as well; the show promises a real exploration of what it takes to make it in fashion, from design to branding. Don’t miss it!

From MTV:’Breaking Dawn’ Breakouts: Will New Castmembers Become Big Stars?
Oct 14

Last summer, no one knew who Xavier Samuel was. Then he was cast as the vampire Riley in “Eclipse” and suddenly found himself an object of fascination in the “Twilight” community.

Now a new crop of actors, many of whom are largely unknown, have joined the franchise for “Breaking Dawn,” the two-part finale of the supernatural series. Summit Entertainment announced on Wednesday that the studio had cast the members of the Amazon, Egyptian, Irish and Romanian vampire covens and the American and European nomads. Following on the heels of Samuel in “Eclipse,” which of these folks might become the fresh breakout stars of “Breaking Dawn”? Let’s take a look.

Lee Pace: The 31-year-old “Pushing Daises” star is easily the biggest name announced this week. And that gives us a hint that his character, Garrett (one of the American nomads), will likely play a meaty role in “Breaking Dawn.” Canceled last year, “Daises” was a critically lauded show that was perhaps a bit too quirky to attract a mainstream audience. Pace, though, is an immediately likable fellow with a boyish grin and an old soul. Expect to hear a ton about him in the coming months.

Noel Fisher: This former child actor is perhaps best known for his part in “The Riches,” an AMC drama in which he excelled, going to toe-to-toe with Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. He’s one of those actors who can communicate a damaged rage with just one intense stare. His character, Vladimir (part of the Romanian coven), is not so much a smoldering vamp in the vein of Edward Cullen as a straight-up creep show. Yet that won’t stop fans from clamoring for the 26-year-old Fisher’s attention.

Judi Shekoni: The glamorous British actress is set to portray Zafrina of the Amazon coven. The part, which draws her into close contact with Bella and Renesmee, should give Shekoni a bunch of lines. That screen time, combined with her striking good looks, could set the actress up for an outpouring of affection from Twi-hards.

Joe Anderson: It’s unclear how large Anderson’s role, as European nomad Alistair, will end up being. But the guy has got acting chops: He turned what could have been a disposable supporting part in “The Crazies” into the film’s most compelling character. It’ll be interesting to see his look in “Breaking Dawn,” as Alistair is described as having dark hair, while Anderson is a natural blond. Regardless, the 28-year-old Brit deserves more than a passing glance from the “Twilight” community.

Lee Pace is already a star in my book ;)

Nikki Reed Wants to Work with 100 Monkeys

Isn’t it nice to know that the Cullen brood supports each other both onscreen and off? When MTV sat down with Nikki Reed to chat about her upcoming film, “Last Day of Summer,” she was quick to talk about how excited she was about all of her costars’ current projects as well.

When asked which of her fellow “Twilight Saga” stars’ work she was most looking forward to, she answered, “I guess all of them… I don’t know! We all root for each other,” before delving into each of their current film projects, surprising herself with her ability to remember everyone’s movie names and costars.

She started off talking about her onscreen enemy and off-screen bff Taylor Lautner, who is currently filming “Abduction.” “I love Taylor so much and I’m so proud of him and what he’s doing,” Nikki said, and then referenced “Abduction” by saying, “He’s making a great movie in Pittsburgh right now.”

It’s hard to mention one “Twilight” hottie without mentioning the other, so Nikki then talked about Robert Pattinson’s upcoming project before breezing over Kristen Stewart’s equally awesome “On The Road.”

“I’m excited for Rob’s movie, ‘Water for Elephants.’ I think he’s going to be phenomenal in that and Kristen is doing something amazing,” Nikki said.

Then came her onscreen mother, Elizabeth Reaser, who apparently just finished filming a movie called “Homework.” Nikki was just as excited about Elizabeth’s involvement as she was with her friend’s costars: Emma Roberts and Kristen Stewart’s ex, Michael Angarano. Nikki referred to him as “a really good friend of mine” and ignored his other connection to the “Twilight” cast.

“By the way,” Nikki added, “Jackson [Rathbone] and I are on the phone every other day because we’re trying to find a movie to do together. I’m sorry I forgot to mention Jackson, and he’s touring right now and his band [100 Monkeys] is just like sky-rocketing. It’s amazing.”

Nikki said she would be more than willing to direct one of 100 Monkeys’ music videos. “Would I ever? Oh my god!” she replied excitedly when MTV suggested it to her. “Yeah, of course. I would be honored! I don’t even want to take the position of saying ‘would I ever.’ If he would ever let me, yeah. I love them.”

More with Nikki Reed

After spending night and day together for months at a time, the cast and crew of a big-budget movie series can grow very close. Filming each installment in the franchise is a little like a family reunion—at least that’s how “Twilight” star Nikki Reed sees it.

The “Twilight Saga” actress told MTV News that she’s looking forward to filming “Breaking Dawn” because she’ll get to hang out with her costars again.

“[I’m looking forward to] going back to be with the family, because we really all love each other a lot and I think we’re sad that this is coming to an end,” she said.

The life of every cast member has changed drastically since they made the first “Twilight” movie in Oregon. For one thing, they’re all major movie stars now. But a couple of years ago, they weren’t as busy attending film premieres in front of thousands of screaming fans or starring in indie flicks on their down time.

“After the first [movie], we were all kind of sitting around L.A. going, ‘Hey, aren’t we supposed to work a lot? Isn’t this supposed to open doors?’”

Obviously, those doors were kicked wide open after “Twilight”’s mega success.

“This year seems to have gone by really fast and we’ve all gone off and had other jobs,” Nikki said. “We spent a lot of time together, and in this past year we haven’t really seen one another. I haven’t really seen anybody.”
