Just as Robert Pattinson made MTV’s Men of The Year list, Kristen Stewart had done the same for the Women of The Year, coming in at #7. At only 19 years old, she already has 23 films to her name. It looks like Kristen already has a busy 2010 to look forward to, with movies like “The Runaways“, “Welcome To The Riley’s“, and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” of course! Congratulations to both Kristen and Rob!

Billy Burke Interview
Nov 13

Categories: Billy Burke, MTV

MTV Hollywood Crush has this great little video and article with Billy Burke. I think this is great, because we don’t see much of Billy. He’s so great, don’t you think?

Recently, we had one of the standout supporting stars from the “Twilight” saga #8212; Billy Burke — swing by the MTV studios to discuss his work personifying Bella Swan’s loving-but-clueless dad Charlie. The more you watch “Twilight,” the more you notice what a great impact he was able to make in such a brief amount of time on-screen – and now that I’ve seen “New Moon,” I won’t give anything away while saying that Billy has done it again.

“I don’t worry about stealing scenes,” the veteran actor grinned when we asked him whether the term was insulting at all. “I take that as a compliment — thank you very much, that’s very nice. We can’t think about it in terms of that [while we’re acting]; you’ve got to do what feeds the story, and what’s honest about the character as best as possible. And that’s all I’m looking to do.”

In the original film, it was the little stuff — how he drank his beer, that thing he did whirling his finger around — that drew the eyes of the viewer to Charlie. And who can forget the way he cocked his gun when Edward came over to pick up Bella for a date?

“That got a lot of attention, didn’t it?” laughed Burke.

Instead, in the new movie that comes out next week, Burke cracks some impromptu jokes, gives Bella a priceless reaction when she says she wants to go shopping – and as he told us recently, used his real-life newfound fatherhood to inject an extra closeness to his on-screen daughter.

“You always look at what’s on the page, and you’re trying to be honest about what serves the story and about the character, you’re always looking for stuff that you might embellish, and add a little twitch here and a wink there, especially with Charlie,” Burke explained. “That’s aside from serving the purpose of being the moral compass of the stories. You’re looking to see what else you can do to throw in there and mix it up.”

“There are a couple of moments in both movies — ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse,’ where hopefully we sparked it up a little bit,” he said of his scenes, typically opposite KStew. “We do play around with it a little bit.”

Ashley Greene & Kellan Lutz Talk About The Best Gifts They’ve Gotten From ‘Twilght’ Fans

MTV Hollywood Crush has a video and short article where Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene talk about some of the best gifts they have gotten from ‘Twilight’ fans.

Maybe you were one of the thousands of kids lined up overnight to get into one of the “New Moon” mall tour stops. Maybe you spent hours putting together the perfect gift for one of the stars. You should know that not only do the actors appreciate the prezzies, they think they should be the ones handing them out.

“The fans are always so loving and caring and supportive,” Kellan Lutz told MTV News at a tour stop in suburban Chicago. “It’s really interesting when they bring us gifts. We’re so thankful, we should be giving the fans gifts because they’re allowing us to continue on with the saga.”

The man who plays the vampire Emmett Cullen has apparently got a sweet tooth, because he’s happy to get sugary treats from his fans. “I got this amazing candy from this fan in Australia,” he said. “It was like a gummy bear spaceship that explodes and powder comes out. That’s one of my favorite things.”

Twilighters, take note, and adjust your gifts accordingly! Pay attention, as well, to what Ashley Greene — a.k.a vampire Alice Cullen — favors.

“I get lots of jewelry actually, because everyone knows that Alice is kind of this fashionista,” she said.

But it’s not the fan-bestowed bling that matters most to Ashley. “I’ve gotten a couple scrapbooks, and it’s the most incredible thing,” she explained. “We’re caught in this ‘Twilight’ bubble and we’re just going and going and filming and going to different cities, we don’t really get to see what’s going on. It’s all a blur. I almost get emotional when I see these scrapbooks of my career and my whole ‘Twilight’ experience.’ It’s a really cool thing.”

Kellan Lutz Says Robert Pattinson Is Still Just As Awkward After ‘Twilight’

MTV has an interview with Kellan Lutz where he talks about how fame and success hasn’t changed his castmates at all.

What happens when you go from struggling actor to global superstar? Does the attention, adulation and money change you after a star turn in a $380 million worldwide box-office smash like “Twilight”? Not if you’re Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart or Taylor Lautner, according to co-star Kellan Lutz.

“Rob is still just as awkward!” Lutz told MTV News at the Chicago stop of the “New Moon” Hot Topic promo tour. “He’s such a shy guy. He has a lot of weight on his shoulders, a lot of responsibility as the actor to carry these films, and he’s still the same goofy Rob.

“It’s really cool to be a part of a project where everyone’s still the same,” continued Lutz, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen. “I think that maybe Rob or Kristen, or especially Taylor — he’s kind of younger and this is so huge to be thrown into the limelight — but everyone is still the same person. It’s really cool to be part of such a strong, down-to-earth group of actors who are talented and humble and thankful.”

While Lautner may not have changed as a person, his physical transformation has been undeniable as he packed on muscle to keep the role of Jacob Black for “New Moon.” In this respect, Lutz could not be more proud of his co-star. “I got to hand it to him,” Lutz said. “He was a kid when I met him and worked with him on ‘Twilight,’ and he turned into a man so quick. He had a growth spurt; he’s growing some facial hair. He bulked up, and he really won the role, gained 30 pounds. It’s not like the studio paid him to work out or paid him to gain the weight. He actually took it under his own initiative, and his dad’s amazing and kept him on a track.”

In “Twilight,” Lutz was the bulkiest dude in the cast. What happens now that he isn’t the only muscle-bound guy on set? Any good-natured jealously between Lutz and Lautner?

“I’m the tallest one, so I don’t worry about size,” he said with a laugh. “I’ll always have the height.”

‘Twilight’ Characters Get Their Own Theme Songs

MTV Hollywood Crush has an article where they decided to give some of the ‘Twilight’ characters their own theme songs and why they chose those songs.

090309 rpatz Twilight Characters Get Their Own Theme Songs

Somehow, the ball has been dropped with “Twilight”. Sure, the soundtrack to the first film was good, and Death Cab for Cutie might correct the situation. But how is it that none of these iconic characters has a song yet?

With the recent announcement that Rob, Kristen and Taylor will be attending the upcoming VMAs to unveil an exclusive “New Moon” trailer to the fans, we think it’s about time to correct this. MTV and “Twilight” have formed a match made in heaven over the past many months, and we have tens of thousands of music videos ripe for the plucking. And so, we humbly submit the following classic songs we’d like to hear when we see these characters on camera again in November’s “New Moon”:

Edward Cullen:“I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred
Because the guy is sexy — and whether he’ll admit or not, he knows it. C’mon, wouldn’t you like to watch RPattz do his little turn on the catwalk?

Carlisle Cullen:“Smooth Criminal” by Michael Jackson
The patriarch of the Cullen clan has more charisma than Clooney, talks sweeter than honey, and — as noble as his bitings have been — making someone a member of the living dead has to be against some kind of law. We considered selecting Alien Ant Farm’s cover version, but something tells us the 369-year-old vampire prefers to kick it real old school.

Bella Swan: “Sugar, We’re Going Down” by Fall Out Boy”
One of the many reasons we love Bella is because she’s always falling down … or falling in love. We can imagine Bella telling Edward she’s “going down” the next time she hits a patch of black ice on her walkway. And as depressed as she gets in “New Moon,” Kristen needs a fun song like this to cheer her up a bit.

You can read the rest here.

What do you think of the songs they chose?

‘New Moon’ Cast Surprises Fans In A Comic-Con Appearance

MTV has a video clip of the ‘New Moon’ cast as they surprised fans at a special screening of ‘Twilight’ in San Diego during Comic-Con. I love the part with the little boy in the Burger King hat. Sooooooo cute!

This is kind of amazing. Here’s a video clip of San Diego Comic-Con “Twilight” madness. For those who hadn’t heard, there were some special screenings of “Twilight” in San Diego during the show. Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli and Taylor Lautner all showed up to surprise the crowd at one of those screenings and the results are… well, they’re pretty astonishing. I love the cute bit at the end with the little kid named Jacob in a “Twi”-branded BK hat.

Do any of you ever wonder if the “Twilight” cast members wear earplugs for their public appearances? You Twilighters do worshipful shrieking better than any fanbase I’ve ever encountered. And I’ve seen Phish. Big ups for that.

MTV Backstage At Comic-Con

MTV has an article and a video about what it’s like for cast of ‘New Moon’ as they wait for their panel to be called at Comic-Con.

In case you ever wondered what it’s like for the “Twilight” crew as they gather backstage while a throng of their delighted and excited fans nearly jump out of their seats waiting for the crew to make their entrance at a panel discussion for the latest “Twilight” flick in the saga, “New Moon,” well here’s behind-the-scenes video evidence for your perusal.

At last week’s Comic-Con, the crew including Robert Pattinson and a Joan-Jetted-out Kristen Stewart, all made their way to San Diego for the highly anticipated “New Moon” panel and how they act backstage is quite revealing indeed.

All the crew seems quite composed before they make their big entrances to the stage, but it’s the way both Taylor Lautner and Robert interacted backstage that warmed our hearts. They were quite adorable play fighting in the moments before Taylor took to the stage. And, RPattz’s excited smirk as he ascended the stairs to hit the stage was decidedly adorable.
