Same author at the Eclipse Trailer remix we posted earlier today, vera241241. Done to “hysteria”, this is a combination of Twilight and New Moon and is, again, very, very good.

Thanks to chrissy for noticing this!

Categories: Artwork, breaking dawn movie, eclipse movie, new moon movie, twilight movie

Like some of the fanfiction out there, these fanmade posters are incredibly good, rivaling the official posters, that is for sure.   Love them. Twilight fans are so talented!  Which is your favorite?  Got another one to suggest?  Let us know!

From ReelzChannel!

FMP01 ReelzChannels Top 10 Fanmade Twilight Saga Posters

Pros: Simple, to the point, shows Bella & Edward looking comfortable and not at all awkward (Robsten, are you listening?)

Cons: No official movie images, only half of Edward’s head on display

Verdict: Summit should take note of how fans want their characters to look — friendly and in love, not Photoshopped into a marble mess.

FMP02 ReelzChannels Top 10 Fanmade Twilight Saga Posters

Pros: Uses an awesome Edward/RPattz promo shot; pays homage to the apple on the book cover; good, moody blue lighting

Cons: No Summit logo

Verdict: This one would have drawn a theater crowd based on Edward’s appearance alone. Accurate or what?

FMP03 ReelzChannels Top 10 Fanmade Twilight Saga Posters

Pros: Official logo and date stamp, clear images, Edward’s silhouette, plays up Bella’s time pining for Edward

Cons: If you hadn’t already heard of Twilight, you wouldn’t know this movie was about vampires and werewolves.

Verdict: Perfect for die-hard fans who don’t need much viewing persuasion

FMP04 ReelzChannels Top 10 Fanmade Twilight Saga Posters

Pros: The trio in full view, wolf outline, Bella cliff diving, Edward in Volterra

Cons: Too much going on — it’s hard to know where to look.

Verdict: Somehow it doesn’t look serious enough — darker colors and a hint of vampirism would help with that.

New Moon Officially Ends It’s Run at 4th Highest-grossing Movie of 2009

Worldwide total  = $710 million (versus Twilight’s $385 million)

Click to be able to read the numbers:

newmoon totals1 New Moon Officially Ends Its Run at 4th Highest grossing Movie of 2009

From BoxOfficeMojo

The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Princess and the Frog and The Wolfman and other high profile pictures officially ended their box office runs on Thursday, April 1. In other words, their distributors decided to stop tracking them, even though they may still be playing at a handful of theaters. For instance, New Moon, which has been out on video since Mar. 20, continued to show on at least five theaters, while Wolfman still haunted over 100 sites.

Winding up with $296.6 million in 133 days, New Moon was the fourth highest-grossing movie from 2009 and ranks 34th on the all time grosses chart (though it doesn’t crack the Top 150 in terms of estimated attendance). It also stands as the biggest teen romance and vampire movie on record, eclipsing the first Twilight for the title. New Moon impressed by building significantly on Twilight’s turn-out, which was $192.8 million. When a predecessor is that popular, it has been historically uncommon for a sequel to surpass it.

New Moon still holds the record for biggest single day with its $72.7 million haul on its opening day, Nov. 20, 2009, as well as the midnight showings record ($26.3 million). It also logged the third highest-grossing opening weekend of all time, $142.8 million, but has the distinction of being the most front-loaded blockbuster ever, making 48 percent of its total gross on its first weekend alone. One has to go down to No. 72 on the all time opening weekend chart, Valentine’s Day, to find a more front-heavy performance, while the first Twilight’s opening weekend accounted for 36 percent of its final tally.

The greatest growth for New Moon came on the foreign front. It has pulled in $413.1 million thus far, more than doubling what Twilight made. That puts its worldwide total at $710 million versus Twilight’s $385 million. New Moon’s initial DVD sales, though, haven’t trumped Twilight at the same rate: its first weekend reportedly sold an estimated 4 million units versus Twilight’s 3.8 million. Fans won’t have to wait a year for the next movie like they did for New Moon as the third entry, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is scheduled to be unleashed on June 30.

It is sad to see it done but what a great result. Thanks to everyone who came along the journey with us, from the Premier to the DVD Party. Let’s keep it going for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn and maybe they’ll make more after that….
What are we going to be like when Breaking Dawn is over? I shudder at the thought. Thank goodness for DVDs.

The Evolution of Twilight

evolution The Evolution of Twilight

Comparison of the “look” of the 3 main characters as presented in official Twilight Saga media.

You can definitely see the coloration in Eclipse looking more like that of Twilight than that of New Moon. Any other thoughts on how the “look” is developing/maturing?

I think generally more sophisticated as they progress in time. To me, Bella seems to go from timid, to a little shocked looking, to peacefully determined. Edward looks kind of mad in the first two, but I can’t quite decipher his expression on the Eclipse one- maybe resigned? He looks the most handsome in the last one, to me.
