Being the fans of the fang-ed that we are here at Hollywood Crush, (see: “Twilight,” “True Blood,”“Vampire Diaries,” etc.) nothing delights us more than learning that the actors who portray the vamps in our favorite films and TV shows would love a vampire-on-vampire-type crossover as much as we would.
Case in point: “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed, who’s been filming “Catch .44″ with “True Blood”’s Deborah Ann Woll , is an admitted “True Blood” fanatic.
When Nikki stopped by to chat about her upcoming Indie “Last Day of Summer,” we asked her if she and Woll connected over their blood bonds. (Pun totally intended)
“We’re both equally fascinated by I think the passion behind the admiration for vampires,” Nikki explained. “I really love ‘True Blood’ and I envy her. I would do anything to have a guest spot on the show, hint hint,” she said with a wink.
“That’s what we talked about most,” Nikki added. “She was talking about ‘Twilight,’ and I was commenting on her show, and what we like about each other’s work, and I think that she wins.”
We then suggested that we should get Nikki on the “True Blood” set to do some reconnaissance, but she revealed that she and Deborah have already planned it out:
“I’m going to visit her on the set one day, coincidentally, and be like ‘Hey Alan! Alan Ball, how are ya? … You know it could be funny because I’m in ‘Twilight,’ that could be funny?’ I don’t think they’ll go for it,” Nikki said. “[But] I’m willing to push myself.”
And the kicker, for us (especially since this writer favors the warm-blooded weres over the vamps), would Nikki consider playing against type and tackling the role of a shifter, were or other being?
“I think I would like to try being a werewolf,” she said.

There’s a recent article on Film.com which compares ‘Twilight’s’ Bella with ‘True Blood’s’ Sookie to see how they stack up against each other.
Here’s a couple of the things they compare from the article:
While Bella could have just wandered into her high school right out of a Jane Austen or Bronte sisters’ novel, Sookie’s more of a gritty girl. Sookie takes charge, and doesn’t let her love of the undead keep her from doing things her way.
Bella, however, seems to like it when an overprotective dead guy tells her what to do.
Sookie might be the better role model for young girls who have a tendency to let boys rule their worlds, but True Blood’s soft porn makes that viewing suggestion moot.
SAVE ME
The defining moment in the relationship between Sookie and vampire Bill comes right after Sookie meets her first vampire. Bill walks into her Louisiana diner, and exits with a couple that subdues him in the parking lot with silver chains while they try to drain him. Sookie comes to Bill’s rescue. For Bella, an out-of-control van in the school parking lot almost turns her into a pancake, until vampire Edward flies to her side and stops the van with his bare hand. Superman has arrived to save the damsel in distress. Sookie: 1
Bella: 0
BEST FRIENDS Sookie puts everything on the line for her friends. When she decides to save — wait, that’s a potential spoiler… Let’s just say that this season starts with Sookie putting herself in danger to save her pal’s life. Bella? She barely remembers her friends’ names when she’s got Edward on the brain. So, she’s devoted to her fang boy, but only puts her friends first when Edward isn’t around. Sookie: 2
Bella: 1
KLUTZ FACTOR Sookie may be a little clunky in her rescue methods, but she seems to be perfectly capable of not only standing on her two feet, but keeping upright at a walk. Bella falls not only for the dangerous guy, but also for any pebbles that might be lying on a path. Maybe this is her ugly duckling phase before she blooms into a real swan. But when it comes to tripping herself up, we’ve got to give it to Bella.
Sookie: 4 Bella: 4
Bottom line: We admire Sookie’s spirit and independence. Bella’s a sweet girl, but she needs some maturing. She could have had plenty of adventures before she opted for the vamp life. Look at Demi and Ashton. Now there’s a guy who appreciates a strong woman.
What do you think? Do you agree? I have to say that I obviously disagree, because for me true love would always win no matter what.
**But ‘True Blood’ is an excellent show and worth watching in my opinion. At least it gives us a good option until ‘New Moon’ comes out in November, which seems like forever away.
Be sure to check out the Season 2 Premiere on Sunday at 9PM on HBO!!
