There’s a chance The Twilight Saga could continue after the fifth film opens in November.

The bombshell was reportedly dropped by Jon Feltheimer, the chief executive officer of Lionsgate Entertainment, which acquired Twilight studio Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million on Friday.

“I’m anticipating Breaking Dawn – Part 2 being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office,” said Feltheimer of the final (planned) installment in the hit vampire franchise.

According to the Los Angeles Times, when asked whether Lionsgate could envision more Twilight past next fall’s fifth film, Feltheimer left the door open.

“It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value,” he said. “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration.”

He added, “So the simple answer is, ‘Boy, I hope so.’”

It’s not clear whether a potential continuation would involve future films or a television series.

hu20lg Taylor Lautner Out Earns Costars

Who knew? According to Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Top 40 Earner’s List of 2010, our favorite ab-tastic Twilight werewolf made more money than his costars! At the tender age of 18, Lautner earned the #9 spot on the list by making $33.5 million dollars last year. He even beat out Robert Downey Jr. for the spot!

KStew landed the number 13 slot with $28.5 million, and Rob came in number 15 with $27.5 million.  Kristen was not only the only the top earning female of last year, she’s the only female who even made the top 15.

All in all, not too shabby!

Catherine Hardwicke Directs Red Riding Hood

I know that after watching New Moon and Eclipse that everyone has their opinions on Catherine Hardwicke and how she directed Twilight. I will be the first to admit that I was so excited to see my favorite books brought to life that she could have changed Edward into a gun slinging zombie and I would have been alright with that, but as the excitement settled and I started looking closer I was a bit disappointed. Still I appreciate Twilight for what it was and that it was the first movie of the series and I would hope that all the following movies would improve upon what she started and of course they have.

I have to say that I am a little excited for this movie it totally has a Twilight feel to it. It is like seeing all your old friends from high school, you want to pass because you are so happy to be done with that stage of life but you still want to see if the popular girl got fat. (By the way she didn’t she is still killer gorgeous. LOL) What do you think does Red Ridign Hood look like a ”must see” or “wait for it to hit the Red Box”?

Daniel Radcliffe compares his ‘Harry Potter’ fame to Robert Pattinson’s ‘Edward’
Nov 15

Categories: Robert Pattinson, Twilight book, harry potter

Just a couple of days ago, Daniel Radcliffe spoke up about the fact that there exists no rivalry between himself and former co-star Robert Pattinson (they worked together on Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire) – no matter the efforts of others to concoct such a thing.

In a new interview with HitFix, Radcliffe spoke up on Pattinson again, this time acknowledging a similarity between his own worldwide fame and Pattinson’s: the fact that they both stem from the portrayal of a iconic and very beloved characters.

The source of this realization, it seems, was a sit-down Radcliffe had with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke of all people.

“I was asking, ‘How is Rob doing?’” he said of their conversation. “[S]he was saying before Robert had even been cast she went to a reading of the book with Stephenie Meyer . . . And when Meyer said the name, ‘Edward Cullen,’ the audience went nuts and were screaming . . . whoever was going to step into that role was going to have a pretty crazy life for the next few years and I think it’s the same with Harry. It doesn’t really matter in a way who it is. If you are filling those shoes you are going to get a pretty wild reception.”

Head to HitFix to read the rest.

After Twilight’s release, Pattinson himself often credited his on-screen character for his sudden popularity, and while many fans regarded this as another instance of his likable humility, there’s still a lot of truth to that. So long as the actor coming in as “Edward” was a suitable match for the character, he was certain to walk into a wealth of attention and interest.

As for the discussion itself, Catherine Hardwicke and Daniel Radcliffe? Who’d have guessed those two would sit down for a heart-to-heart?

This makes me love Dan more. Who’s excited for HP this Friday? I know I am. It helps break up the wait for BD. I think I am going to get ready for both by watching Rob in #4 :)

Talk to Me: When Did Vampires Become So Hot?
Nov 1

Categories: Edward Cullen, Twilight book

When did the undead become so popular? Vampires used to lurk on the fringes of pop culture: but these days they are heroes, heartthrobs, and the family next door.

The 2010 New Yorker Festival convened a panel to discuss this “vampire revival”—including such entertainment phenomena as the “Twilight series, the TV show “True Blood” (based on Charlaine Harris’ bestselling Sookie Stackhouse books) and Stephen King’s comic book series, “American Vampire,” with experts on horror who are on speaking terms with the undead.

New Yorker staff writer Joan Acocella moderated the panel, which included Stephen King; Matt Reeves, who directed
Let Me In; Melissa Rosenberg, Twilight screenplay writer; and author and philosopher Noel Carroll.

The panelists discussed why we would pay good money to be scared; the first movie that scared the panelists and the new role of the vampire as a hero. Melissa Rosenberg talked about what she changed when she wrote the screenplays for the Twilight series. And Joan Acocella referred to Edward as a “very serious dreamboat.”

Why do you find Vamps so attractive? Me, I think it is the “bad boy” thing, but I have been loving Vamps since Buffy.

17822665 300X225 Twilight Named Best Vampire Movie No. 5

OK, so we’ll admit that a huge factor in our love of the vampire movie “Twilight” has to do with the casting of the breathtakingly gorgeous Robert Pattinson in the male lead, as the self-loathing vampire Edward Cullen.Of course, while we can’t get enough of Robert and his on- and off-screen love interest Kristen Stewart, there is also something to be said for the “Twilight” plotline, which is dripping with suspense and romance. Unlike most other vampire movies, there’s not a lot of blood and gore, but there’s still plenty of action. The two sequels so far, “New Moon” (2009) and “Eclipse” (2010), provided more of the same and kept the female fan base happy with plenty of shirtless moments from Rob and co-star Taylor Lautner. If the three “Twilight” movies have fans thirsty for more, the final two-part installment — set for 2011 and 2012 — is still to come.

For the rest of the list and to see what made Number One go here

Twilight Halloween Costume

Categories: Fans, Twilight book, eclipse movie, fanmade

What will you be?

Twilight Halloween costumes are already well-liked for years now, and the recognition is only growing thanks to the recent release of Twilight Eclipse! Twilight will be the classic vampire story, set in a small town in modern USA, where a regular girl meets a vampire and their lives change forever. By the time we reach the Eclipse story, you will find plenty of characters to select from.

Twilight Costumes: Bella

Bella Swan is the human that quickly found herself caught up in the vampire world. She’s the girl that most teens dream of being, dating the handsome Edward Cullen (a “good” vampire). She isn’t (to start with) a vampire herself, so costume ideas need to become just a little much more creative if you would like to go dressed as this character.

Make certain you can recreate her lengthy brown hair with a wig if it is not your natural style, and perhaps opt for some brown contact lenses. As for clothing, you ought to generally stick to dark colors, or you might go for the unforgettable blue prom dress that she wears within the books and within the movie.

Twilight Edward Costume

For guys, one of the most popular choices will be the Twilight Edward Costume. The handsome vegetarian vampire is frozen at the age of seventeen, which means he could be seen wearing the type of clothes that regular teenagers would wear. Some of his distinctive features consist of extremely pale skin, golden eyes after feeding, and also the fact that he is drawn to Bella’s blood! To get the hair right, you might go for the Love At First Bite Adult Wig to recreate that bronze color.

Other Twilight Vampire Costumes

If you want true Twilight vampire costumes then it’s important to remember that they do not have the classic vampire fangs – so don’t purchase them! Instead, make certain you get the pale skin right, and get the proper wigs to match the vampires’ within the movie.

Twilight Werewolf Costumes

Of course, dressing as a vampire is not the only option if you’re utilizing a Twilight theme. Werewolves are just as well-liked, and provide even more scope for finding probably the most original costume idea out there.

The Twilight wolves are definitely not werewolves within the traditional sense, rather shape shifters who take the form of wolves. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use some traditional werewolf costumes and masks to complete the look for a Twilight Halloween party. The Howl-O-Ween Adult Mask will make sure your face looks proper which you are able to combine with wolf hands and a furry outfit!
Picking the best Twilight Halloween Costume

Whatever character or Twilight Halloween Costume you select, you’ll have to be just a little much more inventive if you want a Twilight Halloween costume: they aren’t obtainable as full officially licensed sets. However, there’s no doubt that several with the Twilight Halloween costume are still going to become some of probably the most popular this year.

An Interview With the Hands of ‘Twilight’

kimbra hickey2 300x450 An Interview With the Hands of Twilight

Give her a hand — please!

Kimbra Hickey wants some recognition for her pinky-size role in the “Twilight” phenomenon.

Hers are the slender, ghostly hands cupping a red apple on the now-famous cover of the first hit book by Stephenie Meyer.

But Hickey’s lack of fame has her cracking her knuckles in frustration.

“It was major exposure for my hands,” said the petite, 40-year-old model. “But nobody knew who I was.”

So Hickey now stops anyone she sees reading the book to inform them of her contribution.

“I see people reading it on the subway, and I say, ‘Those are my hands! I’m a hand model!’ ” she explained. “I’m sure they think I’m crazy — a crazy lady on the subway.”

The good-natured Hickey sometimes hangs out near the cash register at the Barnes & Noble near her Greenwich Village apartment to spread the word. Surprised customers sometimes ask her for her autograph or to trace the outline of her hand on the book jacket.

She even carries around a Gala apple in her purse at times so she can recreate the pose for people.

“It was too big of a deal just to let it be,” she said, although she admitted that she has become “a little goofy” about the whole thing.

Hickey is a massage therapist who works a few days each month as a “parts models.”

It’s her size-6 feet — not her hands — that land her most of her modeling gigs. Her tootsies have graced a Times Square billboard and the cover of magazines, she said.

“I never see myself as having perfect hands,” she explained. “I guess I’m just lucky that they photograph well.”

Hickey’s agent, Danielle Korwin, said her hands are in demand because they are “veinless” — not the sort of hands a vampire would like.

The 2004 photo shoot for the “Twilight” book cover paid $300 — the industry standard for two hours of work. Hickey had to file her nails extra short so her tiny hands didn’t look like an adult’s.

Lately, she’s been going to “Twilight” fan conventions — she’s at one this weekend in Portland, Ore. — where she sells apple-scented hand lotion.

So far, she knows of four “Twihards” — as the vampire-romance fans are called — who’ve gotten tattoos of her hands.

Her goal is to break into acting. She’s trying to contact the casting director for the fourth installment in the “Twilight” series.

“If I could get a little background part, it would be fantastic,” she said — “even if they only wanted my hands in it.”

‘Twilight’ Originally Slated To Be an Action Film
Sep 25
Posted by Melissa
Categories: Twilight book

Fans of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books may have revolted if the producers of the films had gone along with the original plan.  The Twilight movies were slotted to be action films rather than a love story.

Entertainment Weekly reports that when the Twilight project was originally set up with Paramount Pictures, before the books were a hit, the studio was going to make the films action packed.  They said “I mean, one of their drafts literally had a Korean FBI agent who was hunting and tracking vampires across the coast. There was SWAT in the trees and literally it was like, ‘Red leader, red leader 1′ and the vampires were picking them out of the woods. It would have been a different movie.”

Fans of the books probably would’ve been furious with what they had planned for Bella’s father, Charlie: “They had Bella fighting back.  They had her father dying in one of the scripts, actually becoming a vampire in the first movie. There were a lot of weird things that I don’t think they understood at the time, because the books were just becoming popular. By the time [the script] got to Summit, they were smart enough to say ‘You know what? Let’s throw out all the old scripts and let’s start from scratch”

It’s a little cloudy as to what the studio was thinking; maybe Edward with a gun?  Bella doing Karate chops?  Whatever it was, it was completely different from the story told in the books.
