Who knew? According to Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Top 40 Earner’s List of 2010, our favorite ab-tastic Twilight werewolf made more money than his costars! At the tender age of 18, Lautner earned the #9 spot on the list by making $33.5 million dollars last year. He even beat out Robert Downey Jr. for the spot! KStew landed the number 13 slot with $28.5 million, and Rob came in number 15 with $27.5 million. Kristen was not only the only the top earning female of last year, she’s the only female who even made the top 15. All in all, not too shabby! Source: E!Online.com |

I know that after watching New Moon and Eclipse that everyone has their opinions on Catherine Hardwicke and how she directed Twilight. I will be the first to admit that I was so excited to see my favorite books brought to life that she could have changed Edward into a gun slinging zombie and I would have been alright with that, but as the excitement settled and I started looking closer I was a bit disappointed. Still I appreciate Twilight for what it was and that it was the first movie of the series and I would hope that all the following movies would improve upon what she started and of course they have. I have to say that I am a little excited for this movie it totally has a Twilight feel to it. It is like seeing all your old friends from high school, you want to pass because you are so happy to be done with that stage of life but you still want to see if the popular girl got fat. (By the way she didn’t she is still killer gorgeous. LOL) What do you think does Red Ridign Hood look like a ”must see” or “wait for it to hit the Red Box”? |

There is a great article on Twilighters.org by Tracitalynne about some of the feminist interpretations of the Twilight Saga books. The pro- and anti-feminist arguments about the books have been igniting some debate since the publishing of the books and I personally find the subject quite interesting (and debatable). Tell us in the comments – how (anti)feministic is the Saga? Is Bella a strong female character? We’ve talked about most of this before, but a new discussion is always welcome!

**Spoilers** First off let me start by pointing out that I would have not gone to see this movie if it were not for a friend inviting me to the premiere here in Arizona. Not because I love Twilight so much and I am over protective of my favorite characters. On the contrary, I love watching the parodies on YouTube. I was more afraid that all of the funny scenes were shown in the trailers. This fear though was not shared by many of my fellow Twilighters who were out full force tonight in Twilight gear and dressed up as the characters. It is easy to think that this movie may only appeal to teenagers, college students and Twilight haters but it was designed for people that have seen the Twilight Saga films. If you have never seen Twilight or New Moon most of the movies humor would not make any sense to you. Everybody from teens to grandma (yep grandma’s had a night out tonight with Vampires Suck!) seemed to be enjoying themselves by the sound of the constant laughing in the theater. So many hilarious senses but just to name a few, Edward riding a Segway instead of running, Bella throwing a temper tantrum when Edward leaves and Jacob acting like a dog the whole time. It was a ton of fun to watch. The only issue I had with the movie is that it was on the cusp of being rated R, so I most diffidently would not take your kids to see it unless you are ok with a lot of sexual content and cussing. Here is the bottom line if you have ever made fun of a Twilight movie in any way shape or form, then I think you will be able to enjoy Vampires Suck. Besides this is your boyfriend/husbands payback for dragging him to three Twilight Saga films. |

by Nicole Sperling The Twilight Saga: Eclipse couldn’t match the first six days of its predecessor, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but with $175 million in its coffers, the film still pulled off one of the biggest openings ever. (New Moon earned $178 million in its first six days.) Female audiences internationally swooned for the third installment of the popular series, which now boasts a worldwide gross of $275 million. The Last Airbender performed incredibly well, grossing $70 million over its first five days. The PG-rated film from M. Night Shyamalan has its own rabid fan base that came out in droves despite dismal reviews. And the movie’s three-day weekend gross of $40 million marks the third highest for Shyamalan, behind Signs and The Village. Toy Story 3, Grown Ups, and Knight and Day dominated the rest of the top five. Toy Story 3 crossed the $300 million mark as expected, with a four-day gross of $42 million. It now stands as the second highest-grossing Pixar film. (It will surpass Finding Nemo shortly.) Grown Ups took in $26 million for the four days, bringing its cume to $85 million. Knight and Day generated $14 million for its second weekend in theaters. The Tom Cruise-starrer’s total take is hovering near $50 million. Hope the holiday was a good one. Til next week… |
