To celebrate the release of the Twilight DVD in Germany Ashley Greene, Daniel Cudmore (Felix), Charlie Bewely (Demetri), and Bobby Long (co-writer of Let Me Sign, TW Soundtrack) attended a Twilight Fan Party at E-Werk, Saturday afternoon. It looks like it was a blast which is good because the German fans have had to wait all this time for the DVD. Just Jared Jr and OMG Celebrity News have pics of the event. |

***EDIT: The drawing is now closed. You can still comment but it will not count for the CD giveaway. CBA is pleased to present to you our exclusive interview with Sage, from Sage & the Dills. Not only do we have the interview for you but we are giving away an autographed Sage & the Dills CD!
1. Can you give us a little background about yourself? Where are you from, have you always been musical, other instruments you play, how you got into the music business etc? I grew up in Los Angeles. My parents are both musicians so I have been surrounded by quality music and musicians my whole life. I have been playing music since I was about 5 years old. I started by playing the piano and moved to guitar and now can play pretty much anything that is a stringed instrument, but I tend to use guitar to write my songs. Music has always been a huge part of my life and something that I have always known I couldn’t live without. 2. Where did you meet the Dills/how do you know them? The Dills are a rotating cast of great friends and musicians. I met Spider in music class my freshman year at Yale, but it wasn’t until we graduated college and moved in together that we started playing music with each other. I met the other musicians in The Dills through friends or at shows. {I just wanted to point out that Sage not only went to Yale but she graduated from there. I think that is so cool!} 3. How do you write your songs, where does the inspiration come from? I usually write songs pretty quickly because they come from a state of mind, emotion or event that has inspired me. Almost always the lyrics and the melody come at the same time. I usually find my inspiration from love but not just in the romantic sense. I think that when we are true to ourselves we are functioning from a place of love and so the songs usually reflect the observations and experiences of love in its many incarnations; having it, longing for it, not understanding it, understanding it. 4. When you preformed up in Vancouver at The Metropole there were a lot of Twilight fans there, what did you think about that? There are a lot of bands out there that are great and never get a forum or attention for their music so I am glad that the love that the fans have for Twilight got them interested in the music and out to the shows, but that only takes you so far, after that they have to really like your music. I have been getting a lot of really great feedback from the fans and that has been really nice. 5. So are you a Twilight fan? Have you read any of the books? If so which is your favorite book & what character is your favorite/most intriguing? I saw the Twilight movie and read New Moon. I think my favorite character would be Rosalie. 6. What type of venue is your favorite to preform in? I think ambiance is a really important thing whether at a venue or a coffee shop. I tend to like venues that have their own character, venues that people feel good to be in. It makes the experience better for everyone. 7. Your first concert was March 31st at the panic Room in LA. How exciting was it to have your debut? I have actually been performing music since I was five years old and have been very lucky to perform at a lot of really great places. The show at the Panic Room was the first show for this group and it felt really great because our show is not just that music. I studied theater and am an actress as well so there are a lot of theatrics in the shows, which was great to experience with an audience. 8.You have a CD out. How can people get a hold of it? They can check out our myspace page at myspace.com/thedillsband and in our blogs you can find out about ordering a CD. Or you can email cecildill@gmail.com to get a copy! 9. So tell us what do you enjoy in your free time and do you have other work besides the music? I like spending time with my friends, traveling, seeing theater, music, and movies. I am an actress as well as a musician. 10. What would you say has been the biggest challenge you have had to over come so far in your musical career? There are a lot of challenges in the business of music. In my personal exploration of my musical process it has been a challenge to decide what kind of music I want to play because I like so many genres. 11. How do you choose who will be the surprise guests at your concerts? Do you always have a surprise guest? Since The Dills are a rotating cast of musicians and friends we tend to usually have special guests. Most of my friends play so we always like to have people come up and share their talents with us. 12. If you could perform with anyone in the world who would it be & why? There are a number of people who have really inspired me. I think the two people I would like to work with the most would be Jack White and Gregg Alexander. I think Jack is one of the most talented musicians today, and his work has definitely inspired me more than any other. Jack has a varied musical background that speaks to the kinds of music I enjoy creating, and he and the people he works with are all such great people that I think working with him would be something that would feel comfortable and safe for exploration which is really important when working with other artists. Gregg’s band made one album before he stopped playing music in a band, but that one album is my favorite album ever. It is so perfectly produced and layered and sentient. I have listened to that album for ten years and never get tired of it. Both Gregg and Jack are also producers who I think would be in tune with what I am doing, and who would be able to make my music that much better. As an artist you are always learning, so to learn by working with the best would be incredible. 13. Where do you see your career going? Where would you like it to go? Music is my way of exploring the world and humanity and sharing what I have learned. I think as people we should always be learning and exploring our world and ourselves. Music is one of the most important things in my life and so I will always be playing, as I always have played. I hope to be able to create music that people feel inspired by, and I hope to get my music out to as many people as possible and play and do shows into old age like the Rolling Stones. To be able to work with great musicians and play for people is what gets me going. Thanks Sage for this lovely interview. We wish you the best in your musical career. Also thanks to the fierce Kari from the Sage & the Dill Street Team. For more info on Sage & the Dills and to listen to their music visit their MySpace. ..discussing his influences, his work, and by delighting us with a live version of “The Bounty of Mary Jane,” Long finishes the interview with, he claims, nothing left to say. Though we’ve already discussed some of the things Long tells us about in the interview (for instance, see here and here), it’s still really great, so you should check it out. Long, who played with FLIPRON last week in London, will be returning to the U.S. to resume touring this summer You can view the video below and read Amanda’s article here -JessH |

Sage & the Dills took the stage at Hollywood’s Hotel Cafe on Tuesday night with a very special guest: Twilight’s Nikki Reed. Sage, the lead singer of the band, is best buds with the actress, who arrived in a purple beanie and dark jeans.
“Nikki did my hair and makeup before every show when we were growing up,” Sage told RadarOnline.com after the concert. “She still does my hair and makeup.” The two are longtime friends, and Sage often refers to Nikki as “my sister.” So can we expect the bffs to make music together in the future? While Sage says they’ve never written songs with one another, we wouldn’t rule it out — especially after witnessing Reed’s tambourine skills! Thanks to RadarOnline for sending us that story! ~Angel |

The Examiner’s
Reed even took the stage for a couple of songs, playing tambourine on “Go and Tell Your Mother,” and lending some very pretty backup vocals to a track or two. “This used to be my best friend Nikki’s favorite,” Sage said while introducing one song. “I’m dedicating this to her.” Reed, who hung back in the corner of the stage as she sang along, seemed a little shy about her vocals. “Please, turn this mic off,” she laughed to the sound tech after she was on stage for a few minutes.
