This picture of Bella’s ring and bracelet from the Eclipse trailer was released today on The Insider.  It really provides a clear look at Bella’s bite!

The ladies from ClevverTV analyze the newest Eclipse Trailer. So all the Riley stuff just there to pique our interest and it doesn’t reflect the actual importance in the movie? They have lots to say about “the ring” towards the end, too.

Are Rob Pattinson’s  “golden” eyes his greatest asset?

Think of the end of Twilight, the prom scene.  What makes it so emotional?  Rob’s ever-so-expressive eyes. When we commented on what we need to see in Eclipse for us to be happy, it was Edward telling Bella he loves her with his eyes, as much as with the romantic words Stephenie wrote for him.  AltFilm Guide has chimed in on that and also on what it will take to make Eclipse the best Saga film yet.  From the looks of the 2nd trailer, so far, so good on that.

Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen is confronted by Taylor Lautner’s Jacob in this scene from David Slade’s upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

“You have to consider the idea that I might be better for her than you are.” The “her” here, of course, is Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan, who in order to become one with Edward will have to undergo, let’s say, a radical transformation.

Needless to say, Pattinson/Edward isn’t too happy about what Jacob has just told him, but at the same time it’s clear that he believes — at least to a certain extent — that what Jacob is saying has some truth to it.

This is a great shot because it shows how Pattinson acts with his eyes. It’s all there. The fear, the pain, the danger, and the hatred (would this be too strong a word?) for his rival.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse could well be the best movie in the series to date. I do hope Summit hasn’t “played it safe,” thus allowing Slade and his actors — Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the others — to give it all.

There has been some discussion on the ring used in the movie as Bella’s engagement ring, the one passed down from Edward’s  mother, Elizabeth Masen.  Above is a close-up  from the trailer so you can get a pretty good look at it.

I’m sure you remember how the book describes the ring, but just in case…

“Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.”

This ring is officially what Stephenie Meyer pictured Bella’s engagement ring to look like.  It was was designed by Infinite Jewelry Co. in collaboration with Meyer.

To be honest, neither ring is what I saw in my head when I read that passage.  I’m not seeing the “fragile web” of gold around the diamonds. Here is more or less what I imagined:

Fifth Coolest: Jacob’s Joke
Let’s face it: This is a pretty intense, in-your-face trailer. In fact, there’s only one moment of levity in the entire clip, and it’s of the we-might-all-be-dying-soon-so-let’s-bond-now variety. Realizing that the only way to defeat Victoria’s army of newborn vampires is by working together, the Cullens and Jacob’s Quileute homeys forge an unlikely alliance. After two movies of staring down the Cullen clan, Jacob looks at Edward and deadpans, “As long as we get to kill some vampires.” Hey, if this wolf-boy thing doesn’t work out, maybe Jacob has a future in stand-up comedy.

Fourth Coolest: Obligatory Beefcake
Then again, maybe that future could be working for Chippendales. Everybody knows it’s coming, and the “Twilight” audience can’t wait to see it — so, of course, 1:14 into the trailer, David Slade reminds us that Taylor Lautner has a really good personal trainer. Not since the heyday of Bob and Doug McKenzie has there been such a reliable shot of a six-pack.

Third Coolest: A Bouncing Baby Victoria
In this day and age, there isn’t a lot of action-movie gimmickry that hasn’t been thought of. But as much as I rack my brain, I can’t remember seeing anything quite like the way Victoria launches herself from tree to tree during her attempted escape. It seems like the scene may play like the speeder chase from “Return of the Jedi,” only without speeders and if Luke, Leia and the stormtroopers were bouncing all over the place like pinballs. We can’t wait to see this whole sequence.

Second Coolest: Meet the Newborns
All this time, we’ve been waiting to get a glimpse of Victoria’s recently converted group of super-vampires and with good reason: Much of the film’s mood, spectacle and action is dependent on them. It sure is a relief to see that they look so imposing, bloodthirsty and unique. Aside from the fear that the water-crossing scene is indicative of wandering into George A. Romero zombie territory, the newbies seem to be all the fans would hope for.

Top Über-Cool Spectacle: Slo-Mo Slaughter
It’s the money shot. It gives us our best look yet at those improved wolves Ashley Greene recently promised, and we see a good promise of some sweet carnage. All in all, it’s the best tease yet of what we’re eager to see in “Eclipse.”

I remember going by one day when they weren’t filming and seeing it all set up, the vehicles there and also during live filming seeing the school bus and some extras in Forks High School gear! Very Cool experience!

The trailer opens with the official Summit logo, followed by a panoramic view over a Forks forest. If you look carefully, you’ll probably see the famous “’spider monkey” tree Edward and Bella clambered up in Twilight.

Cut to a scene in the high school parking lot involving Edward, Jacob, and Bella. Jacob strides up all “check-out-my-perfectly-formed-arms,” and rather than stare at said arms, Bella says, “Jacob, what are you doing?”

Cut to Edward looking less than impressed before Jacob replies to Bella, “I’m here to warn you.” Warn her about what? The fact that Victoria’s on the rampage? That werewolves are dangerous? Or that she has really bad hair? We’re guessing it’s the latter; after all, if Jacob’s looking his best, Bella has to, right?
