Our new/old news person Brandy sent me this and I thought I should share while we are getting her set up. Kind of fun to see how it all works.

Newsgirl News is keeping us updated on the progress on the construction of the exterior on the Swan house in Vancouver.   Breaking Dawn will start filming in Vancouver on February 24, 2011.

Day three of construction.  The giant trees have arrived and they will be planted in front of the house. Jacobs tree will be planted at the side of the house just outside of the bay window.

Looks like it’s coming along just great!  Is that the same tree?  It looks smaller to me.  (that’s what she said)

There are few times in my life I can remember the anticipation of an event actually being outshone by it’s happening. I’m sure I’m not alone in recognizing that most times the climaxes we so fervently strive for, will pale in comparison to the dreamy visions we allow ourselves leading up to them.

The realization of this record showing up anywhere on a BILLBOARD CHART (this week #48 on the “Heatseekers” list) Much less becoming the NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER on CD Baby, the world’s largest online distributor of independent music, has left me in unfamiliar territory. I don’t know what the opposite of disenchanted is… but for the first time in a long while, that’s what I’m feeling and it’s pretty fucking great.

The upshot of this post is to exclaim in no uncertain terms that YOU who are reading this are directly responsible for the success this project is having. There is no ugly corporate monster pulling switches and manipulating the sales or promotion of this album. There’s no motive other than the desire to provide you all with some music that in turn, just happens to provide ME with an artistic outlet I’ve kept bottled up for more than a few years. In short, (and at the risk of sounding ridiculous) it’s just about LOVE, people. Love and music– the two undeniable, universal languages. It is solely the love and support that’s coming from all of YOU that is fueling this machine and with a portion of the album’s proceeds going to Vh1′s “Save The Music” program, we couldn’t be prouder or more ambitious to spread it as far and wide as we can.

I must confess that self promotion is an animal I’ve attempted to elude battle with throughout my entire career. My distaste for it even now, will no doubt keep me from saying some things that those around me would urge me to. It is only necessity that has compelled me on this new and long awaited venture to pick up my own megaphone and shout the word to anyone with willing ears. So, I guess what I’ve learned is– if you have a mission, there is no substitute for belief in yourself and with that, there is no shame in expressing that belief. It’s unlike me to be even mildly exhilarated by ANYTHING, but at this moment, I find myself on the precipice of a new awakening to EVERYTHING. I owe this revelation to all of YOU and I just wanted thank you for it.

Lastly, I must mention that releasing this album independently has taken tireless effort and selfless dedication from many people other than myself. Although I did put up my own funds to pay for this adventure, I have no desire to make it a narcissistic source of income. Those who know me would easily testify that my interest here is only to make music and create a way for it to be enjoyed by those who dig it. However, In order for that to happen and for “Save The Music” to benefit from the sales of this record, we do have to cover the costs. Once we sell enough units to do so, the kids’ music programs will get some money and everything else will go straight back into making music, videos and whatever else keeps the machine running. So… if you’re into what we’re doing here and you want to hear and see more, I ask only that you keep doing what you’re doing and help us promote by any method you choose. Retweets, Facebook, word of mouth, whatever– it’s all working.

I know that with all the “Eclipse” love going on we might have forgotten that the number one Police Chief in Forks released an album a short while ago. It may happen to be at #48 on Billboard Heatseekers. If you haven’t had the chance yet to take a look you really should! It is named Removed and can be bought here or here.

Our friends at CelebrityBeehive have a fun editorial today. I have to give you a few excerpts from it that I think you will enjoy.

Talking about Jacob Black:

Every two-seconds he’s b**ching about vampires being dead, blood-thirsty killers yet he all but ignores the fact that werewolves aren’t exactly known for their ability to brew the perfect cup of tea. Jacob’s argument is that the werewolves are technically still human — blah, blah, blah. Have you seen Werewolf in London or the Underworld series? No, well let’s just say the werewolves aren’t sitting around trading recipes. Here’s the thing, if you can shape shift, then it sounds like the “same side of the supernatural coin” if you ask me. We get it, vampires are bad — what else you got? The repetitive vampire smack-talk was so tiring.

And I love her comments on Charlie:

Speaking of hypocrites, another issue I had was Charlie’s reaction to Jacob when he tried to kiss Bella against her will. “Good for you, kid,” Charlie congratulated him. Really?? I don’t think so! Aren’t you the police chief and Bella’s dad? If any boy tried that on my daughter, no matter how fond I may be of this boy, he’d be getting a few choice words and my sh**-kickers up his ass!! Sure, Meyer inserted a quick exchange between Charlie and Bella later about how people shouldn’t do unto others without their permission, but seriously, it just made me scratch my head and wonder what about Jake is supposed to be appealing because nothing says romance like annoying the f#*k out of someone, and forcing themselves on you! Sorry, Team Jacob.

In fact, I was mildly irritated by Charlie (love Billy Burke!) for his unfair treatment of Edward. Granted, I can see how Edward would be on Charlie’s s**t list after the whole Italy debacle. But let’s see, high-speed motorcycle racing and cliff diving sounds like good wholesome fun so it’s perfectly natural that Charlie would be fine with Jake, right?

REMOVED Music Video Is Now Live

I’ll start this post by saying this… we here at the bb site have been nothing short of BLOWN AWAY by the overwhelming and sincerely adulatory response we’ve received since launching this project. I personally, want to thank each and every one of you who have put forth SO MANY kind thoughts, compliments and good wishes. From conception to fruition and everywhere after, this is now, and will continue to be a collaborative and interactive effort. I’m gonna do my absolute best to keep you current with everything we’re doing and everything that transpires along this dusty ass little road you’re walking with me.

In that spirit, we managed to throw together a little something while on location in Shreveport, Louisiana. Some of you might know that for the past couple months I was there filming a pretty groovy and I think, pretty bad ass (somewhat adult) 3D action road picture (directed by Patrick Lussier) with Nicolas Cage called “DRIVE ANGRY”. On one of the few days that I had free, I had the good fortune of being visited by my close friend and up and coming filmmaker Devon Gummersall. He and I both thought it might be a sweet opportunity to shoot some unplanned, guerilla style footage for an impromptu video for “REMOVED”. My super-cool wife and best pal Pollyanna Rose agreed to play with us and thus, we set forth on a one day into night excursion to see what we could come up with. As you’ll see we started out on the deserted streets of Shreveport and ended up literally, in the closet of the house we were renting.

So alright, listen… admittedly we’re not shattering any earth or reinventing any wheels with this thing. We just wanted to give you all something visual and perhaps visceral to experience while we prepare the “drop” of the record and I really wanna thank my friend Devon for rocking us with his talents. Anyway, if you get any mild entertainment, amusement or even a bad taste in your mouth from it, hit us with a comment below this post, over at youtube, twitter, facebook or wherever you’re so inclined. I can’t tell you all how invaluable your involvement has been in helping spread the word about this album. Again, thanks so much for all the kind words. As I write this, the rest of the record is being completed and mastered. We’re still on schedule for a June 22nd release. It’s really been quite cool for me to have this place to communicate with you all in a more personal setting. That said, I’ve been a bit lame lately due to a non-stop schedule in terms of responding to your comments and emails. I WILL get better.

We’ve got some mixing and mastering yet to do but we’re almost there. It has been such a fucking treat for me to be able to work with the caliber of artists we’ve gathered to make this thing happen. Much credit and my ongoing gratitude goes to producer David Darling who saw my vision and fearlessly brought it to life as no one before ever has. I’m not gonna put any useless preconceptions out there and tell you what “kind” of music it is or who you might compare it to so…

We’re just gonna give away one of the tracks for FREE. Give it a listen. Decide for yourself. To be honest, I’m not sure how long the “freebie” will be available as I’ve gotten quite a bit of resistance to this idea, (Whatev. It’s my music, I’ll do what I want with it) so… GET ON THE LIST AND GET IT NOW. As soon as it’s ready, you’ll be emailed a copy.
