This weekend, the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was very, very busy jet-setting across the country to visit local cinema showings of the film.

Slowly, the cities and specific locations for the appearances were revealed, but the castmembers making appearances for the events were kept a secret for the most part.

The appearances took place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

On Friday, the cities whose fans got to see the cast were Chicago (Julia Jones), Kansas City (Gil Birmingham), Las Vegas (Kiowa Gordon), Los Angeles (Dakota Fanning), Minneapolis (Charlie Bewley), Nashville (Tinsel Korey), Orange County (Justin Chon), Vancouver (Tyson Houseman), and Washington, D.C (Christian Serratos).

You can see a photo of and mini-interview with Julia Jones in Chicago here. Meanwhile, Gil Birmingham’s Facebook page has its own set of photos from his appearance, and a local news station (KMBC) interviewed Birmingham from the event. Christian Serratos, Alex Meraz and Daniel Cudmore traveled to Oceana Navel Air Station in Virginia on Wednesday for a New Moon DVD Release Party.They posed for photos with fans and met wounded Marines. How great is that!

VIRGINIA BEACH — The lines were long and the affection WAS genuine for Daniel Cudmore, Christian Serratos and Alex Meraz, aka Felix, Angela and Paul in the vampire versus wolfpack love stories known as the Twilight Saga. NAS Oceana invited the trio to meet the troops and appear at the Exchange. Actor Alex Meraz said he got his start six years ago in Colonial Williamsburg as an extra in the movie New World. “Six years later, almost to the day, I am flying back here. It’s a private jet and I am looking around. It’s so bizarre to me. It was really really humbling,” said Meraz. 300 families won a chance to meet the actors onstage and get a photo taken with them. “It was great and we loved coming out and meeting the characters of the show we’ve read the books. We love it. We watched the movies dozens of times. We’re total Twi-hard fanatics,” said Deborah Boggs. The Navy presented the three with jackets and caps from VFA-31 “The Tomcatters.” The actors also got a ride in a simulator.

Yesterday, Summit (Via @Twilight Twitter) announced “Tomorrow make sure check @Twilight often as we make some exciting #NewMoonDVD announcements!”

Today, they declared “The cast and crew of New Moon are going to some #NewMoonDVD midnight release parties this Friday! Check back often as we let you know who is going where for the #NewMoonDVD Midnight release parties!”

It appears they have been announcing them on the hour, but here is what we know so far:

Peter Facinelli is going to New York for New Moon DVD Party.

Edi Gathegi will be in Pittsburgh.

Chaske Spencer and Tyson Houseman will be in Atlanta.

Melissa Rosenberg (Screenwriter) will be in Seattle.

Justin Chon, Christian Serratos, and Michael Welch will be in Salt Lake City.

Charlie Bewley will be in Denver.

Elizabeth Reaser will be in Phoenix.

Kiowa Gordon and Tinsel Korey will be in Cincinnati.

Daniel Cudmore will be in Houston.

Last, but not least. Nikki Reed and Chris Weitz in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, they have not announced which location the cast members will attend, only the city.  So, if you happen to be attending a party in one of these cities, cross your fingers you choose the right one.

We will update this post as Summit continues to announce more cast appearances.

My fave part was meeting the Hillywood cast. The girls and guys were super sweet. I told Hannah (Alice) I felt like I was “stalking” them, but she said nope and mentioned something about a “real” stalker. lol. I met them each day and during the dance.
It makes me want to go to the Sacramento convention just to meet them again.

Happy 29th Birthday Daniel!!!

Born in Vancouver of British parents (his Father is a Doctor) the middle of three boys all over 6′ 5″ tall. He grew up in Squamish, BC near Whistler, playing all sports competitively. He ski raced and snowboarded and appeared in ski and Board videos. Performed a variety of theatre roles in school and local Productions, particularly Improv. Awarded a Football Scholarship to Gannon University, Pennsylvania. After breaking his leg in a football Game two years into his liberal arts degree, he returned to Vancouver. He continued with his acting studies and appeared in commercials. In 2001, Bryan Singer selected him for the part of Colossus in X2 (2003). He has had television roles including Stargate, and continues to look for acting roles for big men! In his spare time he works hard in the gym and rides his motorbike.

This vide, from the Seattle Times, is actually from just before New Moon came out, but it is a very in depth and long talk with Daniel Cudmore and Charlie Bewley. One segment that stood out was when asked who their favorite character in the Saga is, Bewley talks about Jasper and his upcoming role in Eclipse:

“I think he’s got a very cool role in Eclipse coming up.  He really does come into his own in Eclipse and he has been very enigmatic in the first two before they really need him as council – if you like,  as someone who can take them forward and beat the newborns.  Jasper is a very cool character and Jackson is also a wicked guy!”

Charlie mentions, concerning the fans and the Twilight hype, that you just have to embrace it and enjoy it. At about the time of this interview, several of CBA’s staff met him, and he was indeed embracing the fans!  Got to love Charlie Bewley!

Seattle is the place to be this weekend, January 15-17, for Twilight fans. The Official Twilight Convention heads to it’s second stop of 2010.

Cast appearances include: Peter Facinelli (appearing Friday), Chaske Spencer (appearing Saturday and Sunday), Alex Meraz (appearing Sunday), Bronson Pelletier (appearing Sunday), Kiowa Gordon (appearing Sunday), Daniel Cudmore (appearing Saturday), and Charlie Bewley (appearing Saturday).

The Hillywood Show, who recently released their New Moon Parody, will be the hosts for the entire weekend.

Musical guests for the Friday night concert include Candace Charee’ and Reggie Ginn.

And the Saturday night Volturi Vampire Ball will include special appearances by Chaske Spencer, Daniel Cudmore, and Charlie Bewley.

VANCOUVER — Movie stars, politicians and environmentalists crowded the green carpet Tuesday evening at the Vancouver premiere of The Age of Stupid, a new movie about global warming.

The drama-documentary-animation hybrid film is the latest from Franny Armstrong, director of McLibel, and stars the Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in 2055. As the man watches footage from 2008, he asks why people didn’t act to stop climate change before it was too late.

“I think that’s an incredibly important question to ask ourselves,” said Tzeporah Berman, executive director of PowerUP Canada, which hosted the premiere at the Fifth Avenue Cinema. “Canada is one of the top 10 global warming polluters. We need laws, not new lightbulbs.”

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, wearing a suit, rode his bike to the Vancouver International Film Festival screening, where he posed for photos on the green carpet with former B.C. premier Mike Harcourt.

Daniel Cudmore, 28, who plays the vampire Felix in the Twilight New Moon and Eclipse movies, hopes The Age of Stupid will open people’s eyes to climate change. “In Canada we’re behind the times and it’s alarming,” Cudmore said. “You need hard facts to shake people out of their coma.”

Cudmore, whose next movie, New Moon, comes out on Nov. 20, said young people have a particular role to play in speaking out about global warming.

“I think young people fear they won’t be heard, but that’s totally false. We’ve got a strong voice.”

Esai Morales, 47, who stars in Caprica and Battlestar, said global warming is a problem of man’s own making.

“I can’t think of a more pressing issue than our world and the condition it’s in and what we are going to leave for those who follow,” Morales said.

Author Jim Hoggan signed copies of his new book, Climate Cover-up: The Crusade to Deny Global Warming.

The film includes documentary footage of six people at the forefront of climate change, including a man starting a low-cost airline in India and another man trying to develop a wind farm in England.
