Really well done video entry for a MUSE contest on youtube. (Go vote for her if you like it!) Describes visually, Edward’s redemption by Bella in New Moon. Love the blending in the first half or so. Also especially good is how the music matches Bella’s running for Edward in Volterra. Pretty nice, don’t you think? |

![]() By Don Faust, www.DonFaustPhoto, for USA TODAY Chris Gray Faust, of USA TODAY, had an informative article about Volterra, with its real Palazzo dei Priori, and Montepulciano, where New Moon was actually filmed. The photos from the New Moon Tour in Volterra are both beautiful and very interesting. The Volterra tourism board sponsors Twilight-themed weekends, including a reception with blood in what appears to be test tubes? Cool!

Twilight Italia’s Alice was in Montepulciano taking more pictures of the square that will be used for the Volterra scenes in New Moon, where she was only able to take a couple of pictures before being told she wasn’t allowed to be there. Here are some of the pictures she was able to walk away with: Â
Â
The first picture appears to be a statue of a saint, possibly Marcus. The second picture is possibly the throne that Marcus, Aro, and Caius sit on. The third is a storm drain that was installed in the square for filming.  Special thanks to Alice for taking these pictures! Thanks to Raven over at Twilight Italia for sending them to us. In honor of Saint Marcus Day on Thursday, March 19th the Twilight Examiner wants us to wear red & then send them our pics of it. In Stephenie Meyer’s New Moon, March 19th was a date of some significance – St. Marcus Day, the day when St. Marcus supposedly rid the Italian city of Volterra of all vampires (though secretly allowed for the Volturi vampires to hide out in the city without curiosity). The town of Volterra teemed with red as Bella and Alice raced through the streets to get to the would-be self-sacrificing Edward Cullen. In honor of this intricate but important detail to the New Moon novel that we fans would like to see on screen, and to show your support for a faithful book-to-film translation of New Moon by Chris Weitz (one which would have Robert Pattinson amidst a sea of garnet and red celebrants of St. Marcus Day, with Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene, as Bella Swan and Alice Cullen, fighting against this sea of red to make it to Edward before the clock strikes twelve) wear something red this Thursday, March 19th. Email your pics to thetwilightexaminer@gmail.com. Kim C |

Twilight Italia has also posted some wonderful quotes that Stephenie Meyer said about Volterra, Italy (translated through Google): “Volterra .. the square with clock tower of which I wrote about in the book,I had materialized on the screen … If you think I still have the chills .. “ “I immediately went onto the website of that town, and got a shock. In fact, the square with the clock tower, which I described in my book, materialized itself on my screen! It was Piazza dei Priori! If I think about it, it gives me the chills…Thus I chose the title for that chapter was “Volterra” and I decided to launch the book in that town. In actual fact, to tell the truth, I was curious to see were the Voltura live, and so I decided to come here. What a marvelous place! “ Please go HERE to sign the petition to help get Summit to film in Volterra. |

We’d like to humbly ask for your support for an *important* initiative to help the City of Volterra host the filming of New Moon and to show you some great material we created. Summit Entertainment confirmed that part of the movie filming will be done in Italy. However, the town of Volterra is seriously risking of not being consideredas the location for the filming. This is why we wanted to show you the real Volterra. Here is one of the videos that they have made to show us Volterra: You can go here to watch the videos. Go here to see all that they have posted on New Moon and Volterra. Make sure you sign the petition here to help them out! “New Moon” wouldn’t be the same without the real Volterra, right? |
