A $1,000 bond has been set for an actor who plays a werewolf in the hit “Twilight” movies after he was picked up by Tempe police Monday on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in Mesa court on a misdemeanor DUI-drug charge, police said. Kiowa Gordon, 21, remained in the Maricopa County Jail today pending action by Scottsdale Municipal Court for his alleged failure to appear there on charges from an unrelated case involving a January 2010 arrest in Scottsdale. Scottsdale court officials said they have not yet scheduled further court action.

Tempe police said officers took Gordon into custody after a routine license plate check turned up the outstanding warrants from both Mesa and Scottsdale city courts. Gordon was a passenger in a vehicle registered to him when he was stopped by the Tempe officers, according to a release issued by Mesa police spokesman Sgt. Ed Wessing. Wessing said Tempe turned Gordon over to his department and no additional charges were filed.

The Mesa warrant stems from Gordon’s failure to appear in court Feb. 25 on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs filed against the actor last September. Wessing said Gordon was stopped by a Mesa officer who saw his vehicle drift into the bicycle lane in the area of Southern Avenue and Superstition Springs Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. Sept. 2, 2010.

“During the traffic stop, the officer observed numerous clues of impairment and suspected Kiowa was under the influence of marijuana,” Wessing said, adding that a drug recognition expert determined Gordon was under the influence of marijuana “and was unsafe to drive a motor vehicle.” A separate warrant issued by Scottsdale Municipal Court involves Gordon’s arrest in January 2010.

In January 2010, Gordon was a passenger in his own vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder, that a Scottsdale police officer pulled over for reckless driving in north Scottsdale, police said. The officer found a bud of marijuana in a pill bottle in the vehicle along with glass pipes commonly used for smoking marijuana. Also in the truck was a bottle of Four-loko, an alcoholic energy drink, according to a Scottsdale police report. The driver admitted that the marijuana bud was his, police said. Gordon was booked, cited and released on possession of drug paraphernalia and a minor in possession of alcohol. Gordon pleaded guilty in February 2010 to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to a treatment program, according to court records. He was scheduled to return to Scottsdale City Court date Jan. 4, 2011, but failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest, court officials said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Twilight fans will have the opportunity to meet one of the stars of “Twilight Saga” in Charlotte next week.

Kiowa Gordon, who plays shape-shifter Embry Call, will be at Whisky River on Tuesday, August 10.

He made his first appearance in 2009’s “New Moon” and reprised the roll in the third movie of the series, “Eclipse.”

Admission to Whisky River costs seven dollars and tickets are available now.

For $20, you can purchase a VIP ticket which guarantees you a meet and greet, plus a photo opportunity with Gordon.

The event is open to ages 18 and up.

Originally, it was reported that there would be no special The Twilight Saga: Eclipse panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and while it is still true that there’ll be no formal panel, there will be a special three-person autograph signing session with stars from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Bronson Pelletier (”Jared’), Kiowa Gordon (”Embry Call”), and Kirsten Prout (”Lucy”) will all be present for a The Twilight Saga: Eclipse autograph session at Comic-Con on Sunday, July 25th from 1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. PST.

According to the press release, “Twilight Fans may bring any Twilight merchandise to be signed by these 3 talented actors.”

Other Twilight series castmates reportedly appearing at Comic-Con for other films include Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Michael Sheen (Tron: Legacy), Cam Gigandet (Priest), and Billy Burke (Drive Angry 3D).

This weekend, the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was very, very busy jet-setting across the country to visit local cinema showings of the film.

Slowly, the cities and specific locations for the appearances were revealed, but the castmembers making appearances for the events were kept a secret for the most part.

The appearances took place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

On Friday, the cities whose fans got to see the cast were Chicago (Julia Jones), Kansas City (Gil Birmingham), Las Vegas (Kiowa Gordon), Los Angeles (Dakota Fanning), Minneapolis (Charlie Bewley), Nashville (Tinsel Korey), Orange County (Justin Chon), Vancouver (Tyson Houseman), and Washington, D.C (Christian Serratos).

You can see a photo of and mini-interview with Julia Jones in Chicago here. Meanwhile, Gil Birmingham’s Facebook page has its own set of photos from his appearance, and a local news station (KMBC) interviewed Birmingham from the event. Friday was a FUN day! We started the afternoon with Tinsel Korey and then Kiowa Gordon. Michael Welch and Justin Chon shared the stage, and then we ended the Q&A session for Friday with our first showing of Booboo Stewart.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get pictures during their Q&A sessions, but I did track them down during the first of two Volturi Balls and snapped Michael, Justin, Kiowa, and Tinsel.

And we ended Friday night with Karaoke with Michael Welch. He is HILARIOUS!!!

Kiowa and his bandmates from “Touche” even made a guest appearance and gave karaoke a try…
