These are two of the new Eclipse trading cards. I don’t think we have seen either of these pictures yet. The first shows Carlisle exiting the Black residence in La Push, after having looked at the injured Jacob. The second shows the Cullens and the Volturi in the clearing after the battle with the newborns.

Our friends at CelebrityBeehive have a fun editorial today. I have to give you a few excerpts from it that I think you will enjoy.

Talking about Jacob Black:

Every two-seconds he’s b**ching about vampires being dead, blood-thirsty killers yet he all but ignores the fact that werewolves aren’t exactly known for their ability to brew the perfect cup of tea. Jacob’s argument is that the werewolves are technically still human — blah, blah, blah. Have you seen Werewolf in London or the Underworld series? No, well let’s just say the werewolves aren’t sitting around trading recipes. Here’s the thing, if you can shape shift, then it sounds like the “same side of the supernatural coin” if you ask me. We get it, vampires are bad — what else you got? The repetitive vampire smack-talk was so tiring.

And I love her comments on Charlie:

Speaking of hypocrites, another issue I had was Charlie’s reaction to Jacob when he tried to kiss Bella against her will. “Good for you, kid,” Charlie congratulated him. Really?? I don’t think so! Aren’t you the police chief and Bella’s dad? If any boy tried that on my daughter, no matter how fond I may be of this boy, he’d be getting a few choice words and my sh**-kickers up his ass!! Sure, Meyer inserted a quick exchange between Charlie and Bella later about how people shouldn’t do unto others without their permission, but seriously, it just made me scratch my head and wonder what about Jake is supposed to be appealing because nothing says romance like annoying the f#*k out of someone, and forcing themselves on you! Sorry, Team Jacob.

In fact, I was mildly irritated by Charlie (love Billy Burke!) for his unfair treatment of Edward. Granted, I can see how Edward would be on Charlie’s s**t list after the whole Italy debacle. But let’s see, high-speed motorcycle racing and cliff diving sounds like good wholesome fun so it’s perfectly natural that Charlie would be fine with Jake, right?

“Obviously, loyalty,” the 18-year-old – who’s been linked to Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez in the past – says of the qualities he looks for in a companion, adding: “Honesty.”

“Really important to me is somebody who can totally let loose and pretty much be themselves and have fun,” Lautner tells Oprah Winfrey during the interview with his costars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

I don’t think we have seen this one before. What do you think about it?

Isabella is the top name for girls in 2009 and while Jacob is the top name for boys.

Edward is No. 137 (What’s wrong with the name Edward?) and Cullen is No. 485, rising overnight from obscurity. Who knew!

Jacob is the most popular baby name for boys, continuing an 11-year run at the top, the Social Security Administration said Friday. Emma’s reign was much shorter, lasting just a year before slipping to No. 2.

Pop culture appeared to influence many of the most popular names in 2009. Barack still didn’t crack the top 1,000 for boys, but a version of the president’s daughter’s name, Malia, was the fastest riser for girls.

“Anything can influence baby names, from pop culture to literature, to music and celebrities,” said Jennifer Moss, author of “The One-in-a-Million Baby Name Book” and founder of Babynames.com.

Many of the top names — and the fastest risers — came straight from the popular “Twilight” series of books and movies, a collection of stories about teen romance and vampires. If that sounds hokey, don’t bother naming your son Cullen.

Edward Cullen is one of the lead characters in the “Twilight” books and movies. Edward moved up only 11 spots, to No. 137 on the list. But Cullen was the biggest riser among boys’ names, moving up 297 spots, to No. 485.

Edward Cullen is, of course, a vampire. His girlfriend? Bella, a common nickname for Isabella.

Jacob is another character in the stories, but Jacob’s reign at the top started well before the first “Twilight” book was published in 2005. Isabella has been in the top 10 since 2004.

“People seem to be a little bit more creative, inventive and flexible with their daughters’ names,” said Social Security Commissioner Michael J. Astrue. “With boys, I think we tend to be a little bit more consistent. The names don’t change quite as much.”

A little more than 22,000 girls born in 2009 were named Isabella, followed by Emma, Olivia, Sophia and Ava. Nearly 21,000 boys were named Jacob, followed by Ethan, Michael, Alexander and William.
