CullenBoysAnonymous and QuileuteWolfPack.com are working to support 2 charities – Alex’s Lemonade Stand and The Quileute Heritage and Language Preservation Fund. Friday’s New Moon DVD party at the Borders in Scottsdale AZ is our inaugural event in this effort.  Yesterday, I introduced you to the Fandom Gives Back and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Today, Kat from QWP shares info on our joint effort to support the preservation of the language and culture of the Quileute Indians who feature so prominently in our beloved Twilight Saga.

The Quileute Heritage and Language Preservation Fund is a charity that is run by QuileuteWolfPack.com and endorsed by the Quileute Nation of La Push, Washington. The Quileute reservation sits on 594 acres on the northwest corner of Washington state, and is inhabited by approximately 750 tribal members. Of these members, only a handful speak the language fluently today.

Every year, Native American tribes across the country are inching toward completely losing their language and culture. The Quileutes are no exception, and through the Quileute Heritage and Language Preservation Fund, we hope to aid the tribe with creating language learning materials for their youth, as well as purchasing supplies for their cultural events.

The CullenBoysAnonymous.com and QuileuteWolfPack.com free New Moon DVD Release Party at the Borders in Scottsdale, AZ is our “kick off” event in our effort to raise funds for two very worthy causes-Alex’s Lemonade Stand(fighting childhood cancer) and helping the Quileute Tribe.
Let me introduce you first to Alex’s Lemonade Stand:

CBA and QWP are supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand through the Fandom Gives Back, a Fandom-wide initiative, created to unite the fans of the Twilight Saga and raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Many, many Twilight groups will be joining their efforts to raise money for this cause through the Fandom Gives Back. In November of 2009, the worldwide Twilight community banded together to raise more than $87,000 in just 7 days! The FGB is us Twilighters, banded together to do good in the name of Twilight. Who wouldn’t want to support that.

Here is a look at what Alex’s Lemonade Stand does.

Yesterday, Summit (Via @Twilight Twitter) announced “Tomorrow make sure check @Twilight often as we make some exciting #NewMoonDVD announcements!”

Today, they declared “The cast and crew of New Moon are going to some #NewMoonDVD midnight release parties this Friday! Check back often as we let you know who is going where for the #NewMoonDVD Midnight release parties!”

It appears they have been announcing them on the hour, but here is what we know so far:

Peter Facinelli is going to New York for New Moon DVD Party.

Edi Gathegi will be in Pittsburgh.

Chaske Spencer and Tyson Houseman will be in Atlanta.

Melissa Rosenberg (Screenwriter) will be in Seattle.

Justin Chon, Christian Serratos, and Michael Welch will be in Salt Lake City.

Charlie Bewley will be in Denver.

Elizabeth Reaser will be in Phoenix.

Kiowa Gordon and Tinsel Korey will be in Cincinnati.

Daniel Cudmore will be in Houston.

Last, but not least. Nikki Reed and Chris Weitz in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, they have not announced which location the cast members will attend, only the city.  So, if you happen to be attending a party in one of these cities, cross your fingers you choose the right one.

The New Moon tonight marks the beginning of the New Moon DVD Release festivities at Walmart!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Shops are officially open and they have a lot of cool stuff, if you haven’t seen it yet. They will stay open with Twilight-theme merchandise throughout the year now, as well.

If you are going to the Walmart DVD party, be early! the first 100 in line get Twilight-themed give-aways.  See their Twilight site for details and to find parties near you.

Coinciding with tonight’s actual new moon in the night sky, Walmart (NYSE: WMT) announces the official opening of its “Twilight Saga Shops” today in all Walmart stores across the country. The unveiling of the shops kicks off the preparation for the upcoming DVD release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” at 12:01 am March 20. Last year, the first Twilight DVD release broke historic sales records as hundreds of thousands of fans joined lines and midnight retail parties to be among the first to purchase their copy.

New Moon has so many possibilities to draw party themes from-Bella’s Birthday, the Volturi and Volterra, Italy, the vehicles-motorcycles and Porches, woodland Forks and the tent scene, etc, etc.  Whatever theme you decide, here are a few ideas to help you carry it out:

The Wolf Pack Call

Have you heard Kiowa do his Wolfpack howl at the conventions?  Well, in honor of the wolfpack, how about having a howling contest! Who can do it best? Give out prizes for most original, loudest, and oddest howl.

A Mind Reading Game

In the books, Edward can read the minds of those around him. Before the party, create  several packs of  index cards with simple shapes  in each pack -  five of each of the following designs: two straight lines that cross in the middle, three wavy parallel lines, a square, a circle, and a five-pointed star.

Shuffle each pack.  Turning over one card at a time and focusing on that image, have one person act as the “sender”. On paper,  have the other participants note what design they think is being thought of at that moment. After going through all twenty-five cards, the Sender reveals the order of the cards.

Participants who got more than five, twenty percent, correct may have been reading the mind of the Sender.

Tua Cantata

In the world of Twilight sometimes a vampire will have a victim whose blood is particularly appealing to them. The person is called Tua Cantata, their singer because the blood “sings” to them. In this game you will have to rely on the sense of smell. Have an array of scents and fragrances available. First you choose the people who will be blindfolded and those who will have the fragrance applied on them. The challenge is for each blindfolded player to find the person whose scent is the one that is assigned to them. The person who finds their partner first wins.
