There’s a chance The Twilight Saga could continue after the fifth film opens in November.

The bombshell was reportedly dropped by Jon Feltheimer, the chief executive officer of Lionsgate Entertainment, which acquired Twilight studio Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million on Friday.

“I’m anticipating Breaking Dawn – Part 2 being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office,” said Feltheimer of the final (planned) installment in the hit vampire franchise.

According to the Los Angeles Times, when asked whether Lionsgate could envision more Twilight past next fall’s fifth film, Feltheimer left the door open.

“It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value,” he said. “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration.”

He added, “So the simple answer is, ‘Boy, I hope so.’”

It’s not clear whether a potential continuation would involve future films or a television series.

When Rob was announced to attend the 2012 PCA, we knew he would not disappoint, so it is no surprise that he created such a buzz at the event. I am not a big fan of the award show, but seeing Rob accept the award for Best Movie Drama for Water for Elephants was nice. Having Ashley hand him the award was a nice touch as well. Of course the main buzz was over his hair. For some reason, anytime the man decides to get a new haircut, people freak out like he has never had one before. This is not the first time he has shaved off his locks even before the films wrapped…..I still remember the cute buzz cut at the end of 2008 and the hysteria created over his Cosmopolis hairdo last year….and I am sure it will not be his last. Usually I write an editorial/review about the films, but I thought it would be nice if we could get a discussion going in the comment section about the movie. With so much anticipation building up to today, let us know if Breaking Dawn Part 1 lived up to the hype. Was the wedding epic enough? Were there enough feathers and damage to the headboard? Was something added that you loved or left out that made you disappointed? Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend the Breaking Dawn Convention. It was a blast and being able to see the stars up close was amazing. Tinsel and Boo Boo attended the entire convention and made it very memorable for everyone. Things were electric when the Cullen cast, Rob, Kristen, Taylor, and Condon took the stage. It was very interesting to hear Melissa Rosenburg explain scenes she wrote in or kept out of the films. She was asked about several parts of Eclipse and her answers were not the most satisfactory, so she finally just said that the characters in the books are different from the characters in the films, especially Bella who she called “proactive” in the films. It was nice to see her answer the tough questions and not dodge them. We were shown special footage from the film, which only made me want to see it more! You can check out my pictures here!

Summit released the following information and rules about the Breaking Dawn Part 1 Premiere:

TWILIGHT Fans are allowed to begin lining up for camping in Tent City at NOKIA PLAZA L.A. LIVE at 6:00am PT on Thursday, November 10, 2011. No fans are allowed to line-up prior to that time.  The location and start of the official fan camp line will be set by Summit Event Security and all other non-official lines will not be recognized.

Overnight camping is allowed in designated areas only, starting in the Nokia Plaza. Please follow all directions advised by L.A. LIVE and Summit security. Please note, that special wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and each fan must be present to receive a wristband. Each wristband will be numbered and reserves a space in the Fan Viewing areas for the BREAKING DAWN – PART 1 Red Carpet arrivals in sequential order. Every individual who is granted access into Tent City will be entered into a database that matches them with their unique wristband number. The wristbands DO NOT enable access to the Movie Premiere.

Fans will be asked to change location as Premiere set up begins in the Nokia Plaza on Monday morning November 14 at 6:00am PT. This will be the only relocation during the camping event.

PARTIAL LIST OF RULES AND CODES OF CONDUCT:

·        ONLY Standard Sized Pop Tents will be allowed (4′x4′ [16 sq. ft.] or less. No oversized tents, staked tents, etc., due to limited space)

·        ABSOLUTELY No Drugs or Alcohol allowed on premises

·        No Cooking On-Site or open flame

·        No horseplay. If anyone dumps food or beverages on another camper, they will be subject for removal

·        No amplified music. All music devices must be used with headset or earphone

·        Fans are responsible for their own property. LA Live, AEG, nor Summit is responsible for any lost or stolen items

·        Everyone must please pick up after themselves. A fine will be enforced for anyone who litters on Nokia or LA City property

·        Please only use the restrooms designated for fans and respect the other area businesses

·        Guests must follow the rules and directions of L.A. LIVE Management/Summit Security at all times

WRIST BAND DETAILS AND EVENT DAY LINE UP TIMES

Twilight fans will be given wristbands starting at 6:00am PT on Thursday, November 10 2011. Wristbands MUST be worn until the premiere is over. Any wristband that has been tampered with or removed will NOT be considered valid. Any fan arriving without wearing the original wristband they were provided will not be allowed into the viewing area. There will be periodic spot checks through November 14, the day of the event.

The complaint is that Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out “too late” and fans will have to wait “too long” in order to actually see the last film. There is even a petition out to try to change the date to a summer release like they did with Eclipse. I have a different outlook on the situation though, so here is a list of reasons why Breaking Dawn Part 2 coming out in November 2012 is a good thing, I think.

1.  The longer the wait, the more time we have to experience the saga in film form. The quicker the films come out, the quicker it will all be over. Let’s enjoy the promos and buildup of Part 1 and then have a year to prepare ourselves for the end of the franchise. It is going to suck when it happens, so I am all for prolonging it.

2. Condon needs the time. Poor Bill had to direct two films back to back and while the filming of both is essentially over, his job is far from it. He has been finalizing Part 1, the score, and the soundtrack in the past months, plus doing promotional work. He has to decide what will go on the Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD, which will release before Part 2 comes out, and he still has to focus on the final film of the franchise. Everything he had to do for Part 1 must be done for Part 2 as well, so let’s give Condon some time to make it epic. That is a reason why Chris Weitz did not direct Eclipse even though the cast, crew, and studio loved him. There was no way he would have time to do both with such a quick turnaround. Poor Bill has his work cut out for him.

3. November is a tradition. Eclipse is the only film that broke that mold and some of us, including me, were not happy with the summer release. Twilight films are in a category of their own and they should be treated like it. Summer releases are for overhyped blockbuster films, like superhero films, but Twilight is different. November holds a dear place in my heart because I love seeing the films during that time, so let’s embrace that.

4. This last year is going to go by extremely fast. This will be it. We have 398 days until the final film of the franchise comes out and I think time is going to blur by, so let’s try to enjoy it and live in the now instead of having all this talk about making demands to move the last film closer to its end.

I will admit when they first announced it would be two parts, I was annoyed because I felt that Summit was just prolonging the end to their cash cow….and they are…..but now I see the upside for us as fans. We have been given more time to drool over our favorite cast, love the interviews, indulge in fan events, wait impatiently for released material, and be the epic fandom that we are. Let’s sit back, try to relax, and enjoy the experience. It will be over soon enough.

Creation Entertainment has not only announced that the Twilight Convention in Los Angeles will take place November 4-6, but also that Rob, Kristen, Taylor, and all of the Cullens except for Kellan will be there! Unfortunately, Kellan will not be attending due to filming, but BooBoo Stewart (Seth) and Julia Jones (Leah) will be there as well. Plus, there are more guests to be announced!

It’s become weirdly popular to bash the Twilight series. Even other movies have had a go, from Vampires Suck to Fright Night. Part of it is the success factor – the same thing happened to Titanic when it became the biggest movie of all time. Some fans and critics have also taken a dim view of the last couple of Twilight movies. But we have fang-tastic news: Breaking Dawn parts 1 and 2 look set to be the best Twilight movies yet – the ones to prove the naysayers wrong. Here’s why.

1. Wedding Bella
Everyone loves a good movie wedding. And by Jove they’ll get it in Breaking Dawn Part 1 as Bella and Edward tie the knot in a heart-wrenchingly romantic ceremony in the woods. Watch Bella lip-wobble up the aisle with her father at the beginning of the new trailer. You can bet fashion companies are already drafting copies of that hairpiece.

2. Vampire sex!
A steamy honeymoon scene means this will be the sexiest Twilight yet. Check out Edward sweeping up Bella and carrying her off to bed from 0:50 on the trailer. Then check out the mess they’ve made of those feather pillows. ‘Last night was the best night of my existence,’ he later says (note strategic avoidance of the word ‘life’).

3. Baby blues!
Judging by the trailer a large portion of the first Breaking Dawn is given over to the dramas of Bella’s pregnancy – and it looks like a real nail-biter. The little blighter is growing too fast in mummy’s tummy and doesn’t like being there very much either, so Bella’s life is at serious risk. We know this because she looks even paler than usual.

4. Jacob’s on the warpath
We love seeing Jacob get hot under the collar and he’s got plenty of reasons in these new additions to the saga. Watch out for an emotional goodbye to Bella at 0:40 in the trailer and keep your fingers crossed that he can stop the wolf pack going after Bella and her unborn baby.

5. Edward gets cross
Not to be outdone, Mr Cullen slots in plenty of brow-furrowing as Bella insists on keeping the baby that is putting her life in danger. This rift puts a strain on their new marriage and is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats.

6. Edward gets his fangs out
Under pressure. Edward finally fulfils his wife’s dearest wish: to be nipped in the neck and become a vampire. This should make part 2 of Breaking Dawn much edgier and give Kristen a chance to show off her range. She might even smile. You never know.

7. Baby boom
As Meyer readers will know, the freakish child makes her way into the world and loses no time in making enemies. Chief among these is vamp Irina (Maggie Grace) who thinks the kid is a threat and tells the Volturi to do away with her. Serious suspense follows.

8. New Blood
Breaking Dawn will introduce a ton of attractive new characters such as nomad Garrett (Lee Pace), Alice’s lovematch Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) and the Amazonian Zafrina (EastEnders’ Judith Shekoni). We also get to see more of Anna Kendrick as Jessica and Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius. And these can only be good things.
