In a new article published today, Forbes gives a list of the highest paid authors in the world last year. The author of the Twilight Saga, our beloved Stephenie Meyer is second in the ranking. Well done, Stephenie!

Two words: TWILIGHT POWER!

Stephenie Meyer: $40 million

Last fall Meyer’s novels were fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh on USA Today’s bestseller lists. Her four-book series, Twilight, has sold 40 million copies in the U.S. and 100 million worldwide.

Her Twilight series has become such a juggernaut that despite not releasing a new title in 2009, she earned $40 million over the year. About $7 million of that came from movies adapted from the Twilight series. In June the third Twilightinstallment pulled in $175 million in its first six days, the most successful first week of any movie of 2010.

stephenie meyer is making some serious money…i cant believe that this series has come this far…i remember being the only person in 7th grade to read twilight and now if u havent read it or seen the movie ur not cool lol
