Noot Seear, who portrays ‘Heidi’ in New Moon, took time to talk about filming, those pesky contacts and going from the runway to the big screen.
“I started reading the books,” she tells Women’s Wear Daily of her preparation for the role in the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels, “and I couldn’t put them down.”
“I’ve always been biting at the bit to get into the industry,” Seear says of landing her big screen debut – where she’ll be joining fellow Volturi clansmen Dakota Fanning (Jane), Michael Sheen (Aro) and Jamie Campbell-Bower (Caius).
“We wanted someone who had an unearthly and unlikely beauty, but could also convey humor and menace,” New Moon director Chris Weitz said of casting Seear – in a role reportedly offered to 90210 vixen AnnaLynne McCord. “It’s rare to find a stunningly attractive person who also happens to have the ability to act.”
The hardest thing about being a Twilight vampire? The violet contacts, she says: “I literally couldn’t see 2 feet in front of me. They would tell me, ‘Look at Kristen [Stewart],’ and I was like, ‘Okay. Where is she?’”
The Canadian stunner, who admits to having already chosen her New Moon premiere dress, says, “Modeling was great to me. I made a lot of money doing it. [But] what makes acting different is that you get a voice. You’re not just a picture.”
I’m excited to see what she can do. How about you?
