A new & totally awesome convention has just been announced and the name “NewCon” fits it perfectly!  It will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on November 6th, 7th and 8th. It is spearheaded by the 100 Monkeys so you know it will be very fan oriented. From the New Con Homepage:

As you’ll soon see, our events are more like festivals than conventions. With that said, this is an event created to inspire creativity and awareness of the arts in all forms. Come with an open mind and bring your imagination!

Everyone is part of our community and we want all of you to feel welcomed. Our goal is for everyone to have a good time and not worry about whether or not you can bring your camera or if you’re allowed to say hi to a cast member. Of course you can!

We gear our daily events around things that are fun for the guests and the cast, which include art and poetry contests as well as musical acts. Winners from these contests get a private meet & greet with attending cast and band members. In addition, the winning poet will also have their work read LIVE at Saturday’s ball by an attending cast member.

Will I have a chance to meet 100 Monkeys?
Yes. They will host an open jam session on Saturday and everyone who attends NewCon is invited to participate. If you play an instrument, you can jam with the guys. If you don’t play an instrument, you can relax and enjoy the music. Some of the band members will also be part of our music Q&A session on Saturday.

Is Jackson Rathbone going to be there? for sure? are you really really sure?
Yes. Jackson will finish filming in Vancouver at the end of October. He’ll rest in LA for a few days and then head to Nashville to help spread the word about the Spencer Bell Legacy Project.

PLATINUM PASS
This pass gets you into every event at NewCon and you’ll be sitting in the first 3 rows for every event. This includes the Ball Saturday night, cocktail party, autographs from all attending cast members, Free 8×10’s for them to sign, photo ops with all attending casts members, a FREE ticket and preferred seating at the 100 Monkeys concert and you’ll be first in line for the all events. There are only 50 Platinum Passes available.

WEEKEND PASS
This pass gets you into every event at NewCon except Saturday night’s Ball and the 100 Monkeys’ concert. This includes all panel events, Q&A sessions, jam sessions, roundtable discussions, art exhibits, poetry & fanfiction readings. You also get a free autograph and photo op with one of your favorite attending cast members.

The first 200 people to register for either package get a specially signed 100 Monkeys collectible and we’ll pick 5 people from this group for a private meet & greet with the band.

I was just going to send you an e-mail about this festival. Glad you got the information and since I already planned on going to Nashville for the 100Monkeys show, I will also attend Newcon. Cannot wait!
