Bella Chooses Life
Edward had just called my little nudger a thing. He said Carlisle would get it out. “No,” I whispered. I’d gotten it wrong before. He didn’t care about the baby at all. He wanted to hurt him.
Pattinson: It shows a little negative part of Edward’s character. He deals with it in such a thoughtless way, and he lets his fear turn into anger. It was quite nice to play.
Condon: And one of your strongest moments in the movie, too.
Both characters suddenly act differently than they ever have before.
Pattinson: They shock each other. For a saga which is about eternal, undying love that nothing can touch, suddenly –
Stewart: There’s one thing that can. That was fun to play. Bella’s always liked him and liked everything he said and thought everything he did was right. This is something that she clearly disagrees with. She doesn’t mindlessly and blindly follow him. She was always kind of defiant. I like that.
Here is where the movie takes a darker turn, right?
Condon: Absolutely. You’re sort of desperate for it. Because you’ve got the wedding and the honeymoon, but there’s no conflict. Suddenly this happens, and Rob says, “Get that thing out of you.” All you have is one line, and that’s the rest of the movie. It’s right in that moment.

Jacob Watches Bella Drink
Bella shoved the straw between her lips, squeezed her eyes shut, and wrinkled her nose. I could hear the blood slopping around in the cup again as her hand shook. She sipped at it for a second, and then moaned quietly with her eyes still closed.
This is where Bella only wants to spend time with Jacob — because, as we later learn, her baby is already drawn to him.
Condon: It’s like watching Raiders of the Lost Ark and the snakes are coming and there’s no way to get out. How is she going to get out of this (love) triangle? It seemed impossible to figure out any way in which Jacob wouldn’t be the loser. And then this other idea comes in. It’s definitely weird, but it’s clever. He always loved that baby and the baby always loved him.
Stewart: I just get goose bumps!
Pattinson: I have to say, it is pretty creepy. (Laughs)Stewart: But that’s why I loved playing up those moments. I savor all those creepy bits. Like when Jacob sits down on the couch and is like, “Don’t look at me like that.” She can’t help it.
Pattinson: Oh! I didn’t even think about it the other way around as well (that the unborn baby is causing Bella to want to spend time with Jacob). Because I was like, What the fuck is this scene? This is insane. I would have broken up with you ages ago.
Stewart: Dude, don’t you remember you’re listening to us yell at each other (later)? Jacob says, “Didn’t you want me around all the time?” And I’m like, “Yeah,” and he says, “Aren’t those feelings gone now?” And I’m like, “Long gone.”
Pattinson: Ohhhhh, yeah.
Stewart: (Gesturing to Pattinson) He’s lying. He knows all of this, he’s forgotten it!
Pattinson: Oh, shush. (Laughs) Look, there are a lot of moments when Edward sort of acts like a pussy. I mean, throughout the whole series.
Stewart: (Laughs) You can quote him on that.
Pattinson: I’m sitting next to you and I’m like, “My wife is dying. I have completely fucked my life up and hers,” and JAcob’s like (to Bella), “Hey, baby, you don’t look too bad to me.” And I’m just sitting there, like, with a bucket collecting (Bella’s) vomit.
Stewart: (Laughs) That’s literally what he’s doing.
Pattinson: That really wouldn’t happen. I should have thrown the vomit at him.
Stewart: Now that I’ve seen parts of it, Jacob and Bella’s chemistry in this movie is better than it’s ever been.
Pattinson: (Faux-glares at Stewart) So uncool.
Condon: The last scene we filmed was the dance scene between JAcob and Bella at the wedding. The last shot is Jacob leaving. I called “Cut!” and then Kristen yelled, “Jacob!” and hiked up her dress and started running after him into the woods, saying, “Come back! Don’t leave me!”
Pattinson: That was one of the funniest things as well, leading Bella (out to dance with Jacob). Edward is an incredibly strange character, the more I think about it. That was one of those things that I had absolutely no idea how to play.
Condon: But you played it great!
Stewart: (to Pattinson) You had all these stimulations! You were like, “I need to play it liked this and this and that’s it.”
You were looking out for Edward.
Pattinson: Yeah, ’cause I don’t want him to look like an idiot. There’s certain things…like when Jacob grabs her arms and won’t let go. And that’s at our wedding, before I’ve even danced with her! If that was reality, being a good man at that moment is going up and kicking the guy’s ass so hard that he won’t come back.
Stewart: If that had happened in this story it would feel so wrong.
Pattinson: Edward has a lot more foresight than the average person, which is one of the most heroic things about him. He also knows he’s going to turn her into a vampire, so it’s like, “You’re going to be screwed in a couple of weeks, buddy! Try and hit on her all you want!”

Kiowa Gordon Arrested in Mesa

KiowaGordonMugshot Kiowa Gordon Arrested in Mesa

**Update @3:15pm – Since TMZ is not the most credible source, I did some research and found this article on the matter. Hopefully all the facts will come out soon enough. It seems more details are starting to come out.

A $1,000 bond has been set for an actor who plays a werewolf in the hit “Twilight” movies after he was picked up by Tempe police Monday on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in Mesa court on a misdemeanor DUI-drug charge, police said. Kiowa Gordon, 21, remained in the Maricopa County Jail today pending action by Scottsdale Municipal Court for his alleged failure to appear there on charges from an unrelated case involving a January 2010 arrest in Scottsdale. Scottsdale court officials said they have not yet scheduled further court action.

Tempe police said officers took Gordon into custody after a routine license plate check turned up the outstanding warrants from both Mesa and Scottsdale city courts. Gordon was a passenger in a vehicle registered to him when he was stopped by the Tempe officers, according to a release issued by Mesa police spokesman Sgt. Ed Wessing. Wessing said Tempe turned Gordon over to his department and no additional charges were filed.

The Mesa warrant stems from Gordon’s failure to appear in court Feb. 25 on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs filed against the actor last September. Wessing said Gordon was stopped by a Mesa officer who saw his vehicle drift into the bicycle lane in the area of Southern Avenue and Superstition Springs Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. Sept. 2, 2010.

“During the traffic stop, the officer observed numerous clues of impairment and suspected Kiowa was under the influence of marijuana,” Wessing said, adding that a drug recognition expert determined Gordon was under the influence of marijuana “and was unsafe to drive a motor vehicle.” A separate warrant issued by Scottsdale Municipal Court involves Gordon’s arrest in January 2010.

In January 2010, Gordon was a passenger in his own vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder, that a Scottsdale police officer pulled over for reckless driving in north Scottsdale, police said. The officer found a bud of marijuana in a pill bottle in the vehicle along with glass pipes commonly used for smoking marijuana. Also in the truck was a bottle of Four-loko, an alcoholic energy drink, according to a Scottsdale police report. The driver admitted that the marijuana bud was his, police said. Gordon was booked, cited and released on possession of drug paraphernalia and a minor in possession of alcohol. Gordon pleaded guilty in February 2010 to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to a treatment program, according to court records. He was scheduled to return to Scottsdale City Court date Jan. 4, 2011, but failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest, court officials said.

So it appears that 2 warrants were out for his arrest. What do you think about the situation? Do you think Summit will avoid speaking about it or make a statement? Tell us in the comment section.

TPNT Monday Fanfiction Recommendation: The Path Not Taken by KzintiKiller

The Path Not Taken by Kzinti Killer (banner by the amazing Katmom)

Bella gets a firm wake up call in this alternate universe to Eclipse. Definitely Team Edward territory.

Twilight – Rated: T –  Drama/Romance  - Words: 18,794 –  Edward & Bella – Complete

Ladies, I think you should sit down for two reasons. Please do, I’m about to shock you…

First, this story is written by a man! A Twi guy! A REAL one! He’s a big fan, 100% Team Edward and an absolutely lovely person! I have the pleasure and honour to know him (virtually) and I can tell you – he’s awesome! I might have asked him to marry me a few times and I’m CERTAIN many of you will do the same after you read his story, but UNfortunately, he’s taken…

Secondly, the beginning of this story will be VERY hard for you to read. I know, because I could barely read through it myself. Just believe me, it’s not what it seems and when you get through it, you’ll be rewarded.

I highly recommend you ladies read this story, because I know that you, CBA-ers are – completely and undeniably Team Edward. If I put together all the comments, articles and replies that we’ve had on this website about the Edward – Jacob conflict, it’ll be as long as a book. I know we often discuss Bella’s behaviour in Eclipse (especially movie Bella), so I think you’ll like the perspective The Path Not Taken gives us. It is incredible what a reasonable, logical and very well written story can do for the book we all know. I almost want to send this one-shot to Stephenie Meyer and tell her: “See, this, THIS is how Bella should have been, THIS is why Jacob was never a true competitor in this (made up) love triangle and THIS is how it should have been so Edward wouldn’t get hurt!”

I think I need to leave the judgement to you. However, I have a feeling about how you’ll react. Please share in the comments, I know most of you are VERY passionate about this scene in Eclipse.

As for our Twi guy – thank you for giving us this alternative world, where it happens as it is supposed to!

The author himself has joined our comments, so make sure to come share your opinions! :)

Until next Monday!

PS. Team EDWARD forever!!!

For Those That Miss The “Edward” Hair

I’ll never forget when it came into my life. It was one of those glass-half-empty days when you have a pounding headache and the spins and you’re beginning to believe that myth about your body slowly coasting downward after 21 may be true. I was eating cold pizza. My DVR was broken, and, so, I was also not fast-forwarding through the commercials when it started—a Volvo ad. What kind of Volvo? I couldn’t tell you. You see, it wasn’t the pretty car my eyes were fixed on. It was Robert Pattinson—specifically his hair region. I bit my knuckles. I can’t remember if I said “shit” audibly or just to myself, but that moment signified a new beginning.

There are dudes out there, girl-liking ones mind you, who dig looking at pictures of other dudes, say, oiled up on Venice Beach throwing 450 pounds of iron over their bare chests while grunting. Motivation. This was the same. Except my guy was clothed, fully and decently, and had a mane that could put any other juiced-up coif to shame. I was sure of it.

Dearest Rachelle!

On behalf of all of us here at CBA (editors and readers alike), I want to wish you a very wonderful, magical day! Much love from all of us! :)

I’m going to borrow the words of Neil Gaiman:

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”

Monday Fanfiction Recommendation: The Music of the Night by The Lady in Grey 42

The Music of the Night by The Lady in Grey 42

He seeks atonement through music. She seeks solace in an unseen world behind the curtains of a stage. What they end up finding is each other. Written for JAustenLover and Durameter for FGB:Eclipse.

Twilight – Rated: M – Drama/Romance – Words: 58,244 – Reviews: 1021 – Edward & Bella – Complete

I cannot express my love for this story in words. It’s so poetic, beautiful, heart-breaking and stunning. It is two of my loves together in one wonderfully written piece of art: the Phantom of the Opera and Vampire Edward. There’s something so perfect in the way the Lady in Grey has put them together that I’d do anything to make you read it.

Vampire Edward (or Vampward) tends to be very a very dark, tortured soul in most AU stories. This one is no exception – he is a vampire who can’t get used to his new nature and tries to find the light in being a creature of the night. Unfortunately, there is nothing in his life to bring him peace of mind or to ease his pain. Then, music comes along but as fulfilling as it is, he needs more. Edward’s “more” is Bella – a person so used to being invisible that the repercussions of this will affect the rest of her existence. These two find each other and their journey together is painfully wonderful. The way Edward needs her, especially when he realises she’s his mate… The  way she feels like someone can SEE her for the first time in her life…

Oh, the tears I cried over this. Listen to the Phantom soundtrack while you’re reading. It’s not that it’s angst or something terrible happens. It’s just that it makes me ache and long, because there’s so much adoration, desperation and beauty in it. Please give it a try.

Until next week!

Monday Fanfiction Recommendation: From the Cup of Duty by LadyExcalibur2010

Categories: Twilight Saga fanfiction recommendations

Hello all! I know it’s been a while since my last recommendation. There are two reason for that – I don’t read that much these days and more importantly, there aren’t many stories that capture my attention. This one, however, is a gem and the one I have in mind for next week will be just as awesome! Here we go:

From the Cup of Duty by Lady Excalibur 2010

Edward is a ruler in need of an heir. Isabella Swan comes from fruitful stock. A marriage made in heaven, right? Well…not quite yet. Sometimes duty brings an unexpected gift.

Twilight – Rated: M – Words: 73,395 – Reviews: 4040 -Edward & Bella – Complete

This is such a wonderful, funny, fluffy period story. I found it a few months ago and I finally read it when it was complete. Needless to say, I read it in hours, I could not put it down and I’m sure that many of you will enjoy it just as much.

The story’s Bella is feisty, smart, strong, and errrm, quite insatiable. It was a pleasure getting to know her – from the moment Edward started courting her until the very end. She always knew what to say and do, how to provoke him, how to answer back. Bella made him a man and a better king. With so many stories out there it’s difficult to find a heroine so wonderful and lovable.
As for Edward… I loved reading about his transformation. From his bad attempts at capturing Bella’s attention to … oh wait, I can’t spoil that! What an amazing personal journey! At times I wanted to smack him for his arrogance and his blindness. Other times I was tearing up and wanted to pepper his face with kisses!
The story needs to be praised for its other characters as well! Especially Charlie and Esme! I have to say – the BPOV outtake was one of the most masterfully written chapters I’ve ever read! There is a little surprise at the end as well!
Lady Excalibur 2010 skillfully adopts the language of the time and her talent is amazing! I had such a great time becoming a part of this world! It had me smiling, laughing, panting, hoping, being anxious… Such a delight to read! There are lemons, but they are very tastefully written, so I’m sure that all of you will be all right reading them. As for angst – a tiny bit, but nothing too stressful.

Enjoy and until next Monday!
