Not really sure where to vent about the New Moon DVD Features so I chose here lol. I got the New Moon DVD from Target and must say that I am disappointed with the deleted and extended scenes. Chris Weitz really dropped the ball on that feature and most of it was boring camera shots. I guess I got spoiled with Hardewicke’s actual deleted and extended scenes that weren’t bloopers or only halfway done. My mom got the Walmart Fan Edition one which doesnt have deleted scenes….which I can do without…but does have The Eclipse stuff that was great and got me pumped for the movie. I like to wait to see how a director fully performs before giving my view and after seeing the product from start to finish I must say that Weitz left a lot to be desired in his directing. He had a chance to really knock some of the stuff out of the park but left it as really just mediocre. The extra footage was a big miss as well. The interviews and stuff are great as usual but the stuff that Weitz has the most control over really just wasnt entertaining to watch. We’ll see how David Slade does and judging by the behind the scenes Eclipse stuff…..he seems to be on the right track! I am happy Weitz turned down the Breaking Dawn directing gig. |
