During the APLive interview on the Eclipse Premiere Red Carpet, Stephenie Meyer commented on what she thought the perfect time to break Breaking Dawn into 2 movies would be:

I would cut it a little different. I would have her open her eyes – red – yes but not show how she sees the world yet in her new life. Like clearly seeing the dust motes etc. Would save it for the next movie so they can show how she sees it in 3D. But also I would show where Edward calls her name and touches her and she react by flipping over and crouching in the corner in a defensive pose. (she now feels him warm and not cold like before) And I would cut it there with her looking all confused and ready to strike/attack. In the next one they can start with her going through flashes of what happened before she ended up in the corner and then Edward trying to calm her down. Then they can start showing how she sees things. The dust motes and how her hearing is so sensitive. Cuz she could hear all the way to the free way. |

That’s a very good suggestion, cur55, but if I were screenwriting Breaking Dawn, I would cut it off when Bella’s heart beats one last time before she wakes up, and then a shot of Edward’s face looking in anticipation/nervousness/fear. I think Stephenie’s idea was a little too much like Avatar… |
