You might remember how over the past few months, news of Lee Pace joining The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn was broken, swatted away as false, and then ultimately confirmed via official announcement by film studio Summit Entertainment.

Well, most fans seem to be pretty pleased with his selection for the role, but if any doubters remain, perhaps this video of Pace discussing the role will help to change their minds.

“I’m having a great time. I’ve been down to Baton Rouge and tried on my red eyeballs. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” he explained, “I play this kind of American nomadic vampire.”

To prepare for the part, he joked, he’s been “hunting people down to drink their blood.”

Check out the video in the sidebar!

Pace was at GQ’s The Gentlemen’s Ball at The Edison Ballroom in New York City when this interview occurred. He’s a pretty celebrated actor, and you can find out more about his former work here at his IMDb page.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Casts 8 New Actors: We Figure Out Who They’re Playing!

As if the cast of “Breaking Dawn” weren’t big enough already, eight new actors have just been added to the “Twilight” finale. Summit didn’t specify which of the twenty-odd characters left to cast each one will play, but we’re pretty sure we can figure most of them out on our own.

Take for instance Ty Olsson . The 36-year-old actor best known for his work in “2012″ and “X2″ is a dead ringer for the balding, middle-aged attorney James Jenks that Bella deals with several times over the course of “Breaking Dawn.” He has a fairly important part in the story, so it makes a lot of sense that an established actor would be cast in the role instead of a newcomer, like some of the new vampires were. Keep reading after the jump to see the other seven actors cast and which of the remaining roles—Isle Esme employees? J. Jenks and associates? Volturi posse?—we think they’ll be playing.

Then there’s Wendell Pierce, a seasoned actor thanks to roles in “The Wire” and “Treme” who seems to match the vague description given for Jenks’s in-between man Max. He is described as having “crinkly black hair” and “dark skin” that was “smooth and perfect,” a contradiction to his teeth that were “white and straight.” Though his age isn’t given, it can be assumed that an older man (like Wendell) would be working for Jenks, and not someone younger.

Then there are two of the most important characters in the second half of “Breaking Dawn”: Nahuel and Huilen. Nahuel is described as having skin that is an “impossibly rich, dark brown,” “warm teak” eyes and hair that was “black and braided, too, like the woman’s, though not as long.” Amadou Ly might not have that hair in the pictures we’ve seen online, but the 22-year-old Senegalian actor definitely satisfies Nahuel’s description in every other way.

It seems very likely that Hispanic actress Carolina Virguiez will be playing Huilen, who is (based on the information in the book) probably in her 20s or 30s and is described as a “small olive-toned female vampire with a long braid of black hair.” Since Huilen is Machupe, an indigenous inhabitant of south-central Chile and southwestern Argentina, Carolina seems like a perfect match, but she also could be playing Kaure, a Brazilian employee at Isle Esme described as being “a slight female” with a face “creased with lines.”

Brazilian actor Sebastiao Lemos seems the most likely choice to play Gustavo, the other Brazilian employee at Isle Esme. He is described as “a round man” whose face is also “creased with lines.” We’re a bit more sure about his casting than we are Carolina’s.

We have a gut feeling that Olga Fonda, who has had bit roles in “Melrose Place” and “How I Met Your Mother,” will be playing Renata, Aro’s shield vampire. Renata doesn’t get a physical description in the book (or many lines), but there’s something about the way Olga carries herself that makes us think she’d be totally badass as Renata. That makes Janelle Froehlich, best known for “Hacienda Heights,” the best choice to play Chelsea, one of the Volturi guard who is important in “Breaking Dawn” because of her ability to change others’ loyalties. Like Renata, she doesn’t get a physical description, but she spends a lot of time with Alec and Jane and we figure she’ll probably look physically younger, like they do.

That leaves Japanese actor Masami Kosaka as the last of the eight actors, who has the lucky role of being the man to make Edward and Bella husband and wife. Who else would he be playing but Angela Weber’s father, Mr. Weber, who conducts the wedding ceremony at the beginning of the film. Coincidentally, Masami also worked alongside Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways” as “Japanese journalist.” At least he’ll be a bit more memorable in “Breaking Dawn: Part 1″!

Now for the characters still to be cast. Depending on who Carolina is playing, either Huilen or Kaure are still up for grabs, and there’s also the final Amazonian vampire Kachiri to be cast. We’re unsure whether European Nomads Charles and Makenna are being included in the films, and there are a couple new wolves and Volturi available for actors just looking to be seen and not heard.

Check out our flipbook of the entire “Breaking Dawn” cast…so far!

I can’t wait to see who they are playing!

Kellan Lutz thinks ‘Emmett’ will be ‘more relevant’ in ‘Breaking Dawn’

DF 06149R 11 Kellan Lutz thinks Emmett will be more relevant in Breaking Dawn

n a new interview (translation available here), Kellan Lutz has talked about what Twilight fans can look forward to from his character in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Emmett’s character will become more relevant, as it happens in the book, and opened a little door that will allow us to see how Emmett is.

While “Emmett” had a few vital scenes in Twilight (most particularly, guarding “Edward” and “Bella” on the truck while they fled “James”), his part in The Twilight Saga: New Moon was very small. In Eclipse, though, we got to see a bit more of the character in action (as he has an important showdown with “Paul” at the La Push line – which, thankfully, we got to actually see in the film version of the story). Still, “Emmett,” unlike “Rosalie,” “Jasper,” and “Carlisle,” didn’t get a full-on backstory in the books (though there was an outtake on Stephenie Meyer’s website from Twilight).

So, it should be interesting to see Lutz get some prominent screen-time in Breaking Dawn. There are two scenes which come to mind from Breaking Dawn that’ll really make Lutz’s portrayal pop – the “arm-wrestling sequence” and all his “Honeymoon talk” with “Edward.”

Lutz also talked about his excitement over Bill Condon directing the film.

I love his work, I’ve seen all his movies and I really look forward to meeting him and the great team working with him, I’m really looking forward to working with him.

Thanks to the Twilight Examiner for this!

Getting to know the “other” Peter.

Since we have so many new faces for this next film, it seems only fitting to try to get to know a little about them like we have others in the past. Well hello Erik…

Getting to know the other Peter.

A few days ago, Maury High graduate Erik Odom was delivering gourmet foods for an outfit called Yummy in the Hollywood Hills. A good day included a $50 tip.

Now, Odom, 24, is one of the newest cast members of the wildly popular “Twilight ” movies. The former Norfolk resident landed the role of the nomadic vampire Peter in “Breaking Dawn,” the two-part treatment that will complete the big-screen adaptation of the best-selling vampire novels.

Odom reacted with surprise, tears and jubilation when he learned he got the part. The news came from a friend, who had heard it from the casting director.

The friend told Odom while pretending to repair a video camera. The camera, however, was fully operational – and was recording the moment.

Odom graduated from Maury in 2004 and was captain of the cross-country team. He spent four years at Virginia Tech, where he earned a degree in exercise science and nutrition.

He worked for a while as a personal trainer at Norfolk Karate Academy, where his father, William Odom, a 25-year military veteran, is director.

His father said he encouraged his son to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Once there, Odom got callbacks for commercials but no regular jobs.

“I kept telling him that if he was getting callbacks, he was in the ballgame,” his dad said. “Maybe not on the team yet, but in the game.”

“Breaking Dawn ” puts Eric Odom squarely in the acting game.

The film, adapted from the novel by Stephenie Meyer, will be directed by Bill Condon and will star Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The first film in the two-part finale is expected to open Nov. 18, 2011. The second will open a year later.

Odom’s character, Peter, remains a mysterious figure that may, according to the actor’s father, not appear until the last film. Summit Entertainment isn’t revealing much about the plot.

In the book, the vampire Peter is an old friend of Jasper’s, who is part of the Cullen family, who are central figures in the series.

Odom won the role at an open audition. He met Thursday with a potential agent, one of many who have shown up in the past several days.

“Suddenly, he’s getting offers from everywhere,” his father said. “Whereas, there was nothing a few weeks ago.”

kristen stewart Kristen Stewart Says Bellas Incredibily Pregnant in Breaking Dawn I

Kristen Stewart along with the rest of the cast have been getting ready to begin filming the 4th and 5th installments of the Twilight Saga. This is exciting news for us Twilight Fans! In a recent interview with ontheredcarpet.com Kristen reveals some juicy details about Bella’s pregnant belly.

“I’m incredibly pregnant in the first movie,” Stewart said. “I’ve done fittings. It gets immense. It gets so massive at some point that it actually looks inhuman. Like it’s hurting her. There are striations of bruises.”

Kristen also reveals that she has not yet seen the wedding dress that she will wear in Breaking Dawn.

“I haven’t put the one on yet. To be honest, it’s such a big deal, it’s such a big decision. I have a little hand in having .. an opinion. But I think it’s pretty much up to Stephenie [Meyer]“

I just love all the little bits and pieces that are coming out about Breaking Dawn thanks to Kristen and her interview blitz for ‘Welcome to the Rileys’!! I’m excited and a little nervous to see Kristen and her HUGE belly! From the reports that we keep hearing, it sounds like the costume/make up are going to be AMAZING for this movie! Bill Condon has certainly pulled out all the stops in setting up his production team. (Just in case you missed it, Check out the note from Bill Condon to Twilight Fans HERE)

What do you think CBA Readers? What are you hoping to see? Do you hope that Bella’s Belly will make you want to throw up, just as described by Jake? Or do you think it should be toned down a little?

LA Times: “Breaking Dawn will change people’s minds about Bella Swan”

Bella Edward twilight 300x200 LA Times: Breaking Dawn will change peoples minds about Bella Swan

“Twilight” fans love to debate their favorite novel in Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling vampire series. Kristen Stewart says she has her own favorite — and it’s the most explicit and intense of the bunch.

“This one’s really good. This one really goes there, finally,” said the actress who plays the iconic Bella Swan of “Breaking Dawn.” “This one is like the forming of a family. You see everything really come to fruition because I feel like [Bella] has sort of gone through an accelerated growth period.”

In November, Stewart will reprise the Bella role when she begins filming the first half of “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth movie in the “Twilight” franchise, which will be directed by Bill Condon. The story follows [spoiler alert: if you aren't familiar with "Breaking Dawn," skip to the last paragraph] Bella’s marriage to vampire Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson), as the two finally consummate their relationship and Bella becomes pregnant.

“At at this point,” Stewart says, “you do accept [Bella] as a mom.”

Because their child is half-human and half-vampire, Bella’s pregnancy is riddled with complications — all leading up to a dramatic birth scene, in which Edward tears open Bella’s stomach with his teeth to save their baby.

There has been speculation about how the graphic scene will be depicted on screen. Stewart acknowledges it’s a “crazy concept,” also describing werewolf Jacob’s hearing “vampire teeth against vampire skin” during the childbirth scene.

Just how that will play out on screen, though, has yet to be determined. “I’ve seen the script,” which tracks closely to the book, she says. “But it depends on how they shoot it.”

Stewart, who was speaking to 24 Frames to promote her new independent drama “Welcome to the Rileys,” said she thinks her “Twilight” character has been misunderstood. “Bella’s criticized sometimes for being, like, you know — I don’t know, selfish and overly emotional and silly and frivolous and annoying and young,” said Stewart. “That’s sort of like a very judgmental way of looking at it.”

OK- after seeing the Rough Cut videos and reading this article, are you SOOO excited? I know I am! Are we going to get to see a little bit more of Bella and Edward’s honeymoon then what was described in the book?

Breaking Dawn Birth: “It’s Intense. It’s Really Intense”

Categories: Breaking Dawn Script, Jackson Rathbone, breaking dawn, breaking dawn movie, nikki reed

I’ve got Breaking Dawn baby news for you!

Nope, none of the stars are expecting a new bundle of joy (at least not that we know of), but…

Jackson Rathbone tells me that the cast is very impressed by screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s treatment of the much-talked-about birthing scene in BD. “I think people are really really excited and surprised about how tastefully it can be done,” he said at Spike TV’s Scream Awards.

Nikki Reed echoed Rathbone’s enthusiasm. “It’s intense,” she said. “It’s really intense.

“I play a pivotal role in this because this is what Rosalie has always wanted, you know what I mean?” she continued. “So, I’m working really hard. I’m with my acting coach every day…Like three hours a day, I’m with her. I really care about this and I want it to be good.”

Although they’ll be shooting both BD movies until next spring, Rathbone and Reed know that saying goodbye when they wrap won’t be easy. “I’ve had an amazing time working with the cast and you know, the fans have been incredible and they’ve been so supportive of all us,” Rathbone said. “It’s going to be sad.”

“It’s not ending for a long time,” Reed said with a big smile. “But I’m going to be sad and here’s why: I’m working with really great people, people that I love. I’ve worked with some really talented directors. I’ve traveled all over the world with the series.”

I know some of this is repeat but I would rather be safe and not miss anything.

Kristen Stewart: ‘So satisfying’ to see new Bella in fourth ‘Twilight’ film

kristenx inset community Kristen Stewart: So satisfying to see new Bella in fourth Twilight film

“I’m really excited about this one,” says Kristen Stewart, referring to Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment in the Twilight saga. Filming begins in three weeks.

“I’m so happy that we’re doing two movies because we would have had to cut out so much, it almost would have been near impossible,” she told Access Hollywood today in New York. “I mean God, I’m excited about … a lot of little bits, but I’m most excited about — Bella turns into a vampire obviously in this one — I’m not spoiling anything for anyone — and she. … she’s so different.”

Stewart is particularly happy to shed the lovesick teen Bella she’s been for most of the series. “It’s so satisfying,” she says. “As raw and dark and whatever as it is, there’s definitely a lot of conflict. It’s like everything comes to fruition. You finally get what you’ve been begging for, basically, and it feels good.”

But fans will have to wait about a year to see it. Breaking Dawn, Part 1 isn’t due out until Nov. 11, 2011.

Glad to hear!
