ROBERT PATTINSON: THE POST STALKS THE STALKERS
IF you’re strolling around SoHo and happen to see a movie trailer, run — unless you want to get swept up in the crushed frenzy of paparazzi and crazed fans who swarm to the filming of “Remember Me,” starring one Robert Pattinson.
Here are some quotes from a couple people they interviewed:
Debbie Moran — with two sisters and two daughters — devoted two days of a three-day trip from Orlando, Fla., to a Pattinson sighting.
“This is so much better than seeing Brad Pitt,” says the 50-year-old. Well, duh.
“If Rob makes an appearance before 8 tonight, we’re gonna go see a show on Broadway,” she says. “Otherwise, we’ll stay here until we see him, and maybe even extend our trip.”
Sad quickly segued to delusional: “I just want to catch a glimpse of my future husband,” explains Alicia Wasberg, 22, from Weehawken, NJ. “If he walks by me, I’m gonna ask him to hang out. Just because I’m not a celebrity doesn’t mean he can’t hang out with me, and I think he’ll want to.”
She’s not joking, people. Her friend Pam Bernier, also 22, has a bit more perspective: “I’m not missing anything to be here — I’m a college grad with no job.” Fair enough.
But don’t go looking for perspective from the majority of Pattinson pursuers: teenyboppers armed with posters, cameras and a dream.
“We’ve seen him three times in the last week!” exclaims Lauren Zalta, 14, from Brooklyn. “We screamed and chased him and watched him film through a window that had a lot of glare. Today I’ve been waiting six hours for him to show up, and my curfew is 8 p.m. — so I better see him before then.”
