Being a dad to teenagers is hard enough, but imagine being a dad to a family of vampires who are teens … forever. Peter Facinelli, the dashing face of Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight series, talks to Time Out Kids in an exclusive interview about the latest installment, New Moon, and the triumphs and perils of parenting on-screen and in real life.
You might also know him as Dr. Cooper from Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, but it’s the Twilight fans, according to Facinelli, who flock to see him in-the-flesh: “Some people will fly in from other states just to come meet me. The fan base is fantastic. They are very loyal and giving.” But being an actor jumping between coasts and a dad at the same time can be just as challenging as raising bloodsuckers. He supplements time apart from his family with Skype dinner dates: “At least we get to see each other! I’ll be eating ramen noodles and they’ll be having a wonderful home-cooked meal.”
