If Breaking Dawn, (Parts 1 and 2?) begins filming in the fall, it will be approx a year after the filming of Eclipse ended. There was an 11-month gap between filming Twilight in April 2008 and New Moon in early 2009. Eclipse began shooting less than two months later. That puts us at 2 1/2 years between Twilight and Breaking Dawn. Our timeless characters have grown! That of course may be very good for Taylor Lautner’s Jacob, who needs to look like a fully developed man, certainly by Breaking Dawn. Not so much for the undead crew. Rob Pattinson has already commented that he can’t play a 17 year old forever. Aside from the aging factor, however, just the year between shoots can be a problem for actors in and of itself. According to Joan List of Alt Film Guide,
But that would be the situation we are in between Eclipse and Breaking Dawn- many months later – cold. Again according to List,
They did it before, with the long gap between Twilight and New Moon, so maybe it won’t even be an issue. None the less, I really do hope they hurry up and start filming Breaking Dawn. How do you feel? Related posts: |

i will be OK if we wait until june 2011, a year from Eclipse but it will be pure torture if we have to wait until November…. i guess they should have done them all with the same gap in betweeen, but then, i wouldnt change eclipse’s release date for the world |

I have no problem with the gap. I think the real issue will be how they do Eclipse. If Eclipse turns out to be a big disappointment especially since it is a fave among Twilighters, then getting us to spend our hard earned money on the BD film or films will be a big problem. They cant screw this one up. They had leeway in the past. Twilight was considered more of an indie film, New Moon already had a sad gloomy tone to it, but Eclipse brings it all and if that doesnt happen then you bet that a lot of TwiHards will be less confident in BD which is already a bit controversial because of the imprinting so if they need to take years to get it right then do it, as long as they do it the right way! |

AMEN! as long as they do i right, i will be happy. and cause it is my favourite, i not only want them, i NEED them to make it good! there are still too many question surrounding BD – how many parts, what release dates, will they keep the same director if there are two parts…. |

Chrissy you are right and I think the reason they hesitate so much about BD is because like you said a lot of TwiHards didnt fall in love with it. I know several women who loved the first three but as soon as they got to the imprint part of BD they stopped reading. Now I couldnt bring myself to do that. Did I want to cry when I realized I had to read from Jake’s POV? Yes. Did I cuss at him and SM when I realized he imprinted? Oh you better believe I did! But I couldnt just stop reading and yet I know of several people….which kind of shocked me…that refused to acknowledge BD or my favorite is the ones who acknowledge the series up until the honeymoon and then act like the book stopped there lol. Summit has to do BD. It is a part of the saga and would just be wrong to leave out but I will not be surprised if there is backlash just like there was for the book especially with those who hadnt read the books but watched the movies….they are in for a rude awakening. Maybe they should make a disclaimer before the movie starts. Warning: If you are offended by creepy imprinting on infants that borders on the ideas of arranged marriage and pedophilia to some people then do not watch….viewer discretion is advised lol!!! PS: While I understand the theory of imprinting and was fine with it among the adults and teens in the books….they lost me with the adult/infant perspective of it. |

I’m not concerned, Rob, Kristen and everyone else are pros. They’ll handle it just fine, and besides they know their charaters backwards, fowards and upside down! What concerns me is what Rachelle pointed out…Eclispe has GOT to be great..and some of the more fickle Twihards may not wait around for BD, and that could be a shame. Is nayone else worried that they have not mentioned supporting cast yet for BD?! |
| by Rachelle in April 28 - 4:20 pm |
What concerns me is that they havent even mentioned if it will be two movies or not! You would think they would know by now and it worries me that they cant decide after all this time. I am sure they will let us know soon though. |

i, like Rachelle, am more worried about the number of films. Also, the announcement said the M Rosenberg is still writing the script, so I don’t think we can even be sure what vampires we’ll have, let alone who will play them. |

it shouldn’t be a problem bc they should’ve been giving us longer gaps anyways! they should’ve been doing a “harry potter” kind of thing and made us fans wait…it would test our patience as true fans! and if it’ll be 2 films, it’ll be 2, it can be 1 for all i care as long as its rated R! |

Really, you all aren’t the least bit concerned that they would change the cast at this point? Everyone has so much going on already being that, as far as we know, haven’t been signed yet? I’m a little nervous and will be until and annoucement is made that EVERYone will be back for BD. |

Actually Stacie that is the last thing I would worry about. The cast is a must and they arent going to change the mains. Rob, Kristen, Ashley, Taylor, and Nikki already said that they are signed on to do BD whether that be one or two movies so dont worry about that. Do you really think that Summit would be that stupid? They changed Victoria but hell she dies in the movie that she is changed in anyways and was considered a secondary character. Karla dont hold your breath for the R rating. With SM running the show that will never happen even if the book was borderline R especially visually. I am glad they are doing their own thing and not trying to copy another fandom’s formula because that makes it less original. HP is HP, Twilight is Twilight so they should have their own approach. It has nothing to do with testing true fans’ patience. Our loyalty is not under scrutiny. If anything, people think TwiHards are over the top. It all comes down to aging and Vampires cant age. The Cullen cast is not supposed to look that old and they are all in their twenties so yes they had to hurry up and film. Rob has to stay as close in appearance as he can to play Edward so that is why they did it. They want it to be as realistic as possible. |

Yeah, I agree about the R rating guys. SM wasn’t going to let that happen BEFORE she became a producer, so forget it totally now! We’ll be lucky if we to see Rob and Kristen in like a dark silohuette(sp?) shot much less ANY skin! But, it’s like someone said to me today, they can sneak alot in with a P-13 rating if they get creative. So okay Rachelle, I’m a little less frantic now about the cast after what you said….but what of Kellan and Jackson? Kellan has said some stuff about flying under the radar and all that….hope he hasn’t pissed anyone off. Our beloved Emmett won’t be same w/out Kellan! |
